  • With Duke losing to Syracuse WSU should be moving up to the 12th slot in the Kenpom ratings.

A 5 loss Shocker team not getting in would be a snub of monumental proportions.

Their opinion is WSU does not have an at-large resume if the committee is relying on the tradition RPI centric team sheets [assuming 29-5 record would be 1-5 record versus Top 50, and 1-0 versus Top 100]. They are only an at-large team if they look at analytics. And they still question how much the committee will use analytics.

Their argument on WSU was that all of WSU opportunities for Top 50 wins came in November and early December when this team was trying to find their way after losing their two leaders who happen to be NBA players (Fred/Baker), their 3rd leading scorer (Grady) and glue guy (Wessel). Once they found their way - they have not only won, but have trampled their competition and the analytic prove it. It not WSU fault they are in a week conference that doesn't provide quality competition. WSU did the only thing they could do - win.

So in their opinion if WSU wins the MVC tournament, the committee will likely seed them closer to where they should be seeded per analytics. If WSU makes it hard on them, then it will probably be like last year and they will compromise - analytics will get them in the tournament, but they will get a bad seed because of their weak resume.

I am convinced that Jerry Palm has watched less than 5 commutative minutes of basketball this year. Seriously.

Actually if they were seeded by analytics we are a 3/4 seed.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

                • I watch a ton of basketball. My eye test tells me KSU is not tourney worthy and if they get in the tourney, whether Dayton or wherever, they will be a quick out.

                  • If we get Creighton and KU in Tulsa then I would be willing to forgive the committee for the hose job last year. Each day that goes by it feels like a stronger and stronger possibility.

Rasmussen on the committee is probably the only thing stopping it.

                    • I want nothing to do with KU.

Mostly because I want them to sit on it for 20 years.

If they would like to get the bad taste out of their mouths, they are welcome to visit Koch. Otherwise, suck it, I don't need the NCAA scheduling that game for them.

I get what you are saying...but the Beaker types can just pretend that 78-65 was just a bad fluke of a day. This is the year to play them again, because their depth is non-existent. If WSU beat them again, then the Beakers have to start wearing it, and a regular season game probably happens soon so that their fan base can feel like order has been restored. To that, I'd definitely tell them to come to Koch or STFU.

Frankamp going off for 20 in a win would be enough to cause mass suicides in Johnson County.

                          • Agreed. Conner, in full hunt and sniper mode, extending the lead from say 5 to 17 on 4 straight possessions, would be enough to cause Walmart Tshirt wearing beaker fans to make the Kaw run red as they committed seppuku, using the various weapons confiscated from the basketball dorm and hidden in the bowels of AFH, in a scene that would make Jonestown, Guyana look like the Tea Cup Ride at Disneyland.

The geographical, cultural and historical depth of this post, as well as the overall accuracy, is impressive.
