I like Warrennolan.com for the nitty gritty sheets he has on the. Good breakdowns.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

      • Here's the thing I don't get. The NCAA tournament is supposed to be selecting the best teams for the tournament, and looking at their resume is how they evaluate it. But what never gets talked about is ALL the parts of the resume.

        - quality wins
        - bad losses
        - road wins
        - eye test
        - SOS
        - NCSOS
        - analytics (pretty recent)

I'm sure there are a few more. Obviously Wichita State falls short on quality wins and overall SOS. But they are great everywhere else and mostly comparable to the bubble in NCSOS.

        • Very nice. If he doesn't like Lunardi, he must abhor Palm

          • The CBS hoard doesn't even consider losses by P5 teams anymore. They're an afterthought.
            Deuces Valley.
            ... No really, deuces.

I think the problem is this guy is actually trying to seed a tourney based on logic and how good teams are.

Lunardi, I think tries to get in the head of the committee and predict what they will do, which doesn't always include unbiased logic...

You're spot on about Lunardi. ESPN had him on talking about the Big 12 during the WVU/UT game and one of the things he kept saying was that the committee tends to value this or penalize you for that.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

                • If we win out with a double digit tournament finals win I say we
will be a 5/6 seed. As usual we will land in the toughest part
of the bracket to try and put us in our place. So be it.

But the flip-side is that putting us in a tough bracket screws good teams by putting us with them. Which way do they go?

The screw job is when a high seed gets stuck in a bracket with a 9 or 10 seeded WSU. That sucks for them. If we end of being a 5 through 7, eh, that's about right. Let the chips fall where they may.

If they can screw both WSU and Gonzaga, I think you have your answer.

Much tougher bracket for the Shockers IMO; to reach FF the Shockers have to march through Villanova, Louisville and Florida. Whereas Lunardi's bucket pits the Shockers against Kansas, Arizona and Duke.

For me I want Lunardi's Region not O'Brien.

If the Shockers play in the West Region with an 8/9 seed, then you know you called it right.

                              Wouldn't be the first time.

So much, this. The committee will do everything it can to see that non P5s go head to head and cull each other out. I've seen this movie before.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.
