    • Deserving of a 5-6, will actually end up with an 8-9
      Deuces Valley.
      ... No really, deuces.

If the Shocks are seeded 8 or 9; they need to be in Kansas Region.

          • 7 + or - 1 if it's done with no bias. If we get seeded like we have in the past - we'll be 10 or 11 against Duke or Kentucky.

At the bracketmatrix, we're on 100 out of 106 brackets. Right now Palm is figuring out how many more mock brackets he has to publish before Selection Sunday, making his best honest guess at where WSU might really land, and grabbing his slide rule to do the calculation on the average bump he needs to give WSU in each of his remaining mock brackets so he doesn't end up looking like a TFM.
I get what you're saying, but when it comes to WSU, I'm not sure facePalm pays real close attention to RPI. I also think he's probably much more Jethro Bodine than math nerd.

Out of curiosity, I thought I'd compare his latest (02/18) bracket seeds to some of the more popular rating and ranking systems.

They don't have to count some losses because Coach was out last year!

Wally and Guillen tried to fight for WSU but Rothstein didn't have none of it. I get it, WSU didn't cash in on the early season opportunities, but Rothstein is basically saying that WSU needed to go 30-1 to get an at-large bid. Are you effing kidding me, John?

How come Illinois State doesn't count as a quality win? They have a Top 30 RPI. Is it because they're in the Valley? So is RPI the metric being used or what? If it is, then who give a **** if it's in conference or not? They beat a Top 30 RPI team by 41 points. Does that mean anything?

As Guillen pointed out, you can knock on WSU and their 25-4 record (#winning) all you want, but don't be saying that these garbage P5 teams with 4-10, 5-9, or 6-8 conference records deserve it more because they #losing better.

Jon Rothstein. He normally has our backs. Maybe they just wanted some made for tv arguing today. Or maybe fellow CBS employee Jerry Hackjob got into his ear.

                            • And here's my problem with the RPI. If a mid has a good RPI, it's inflated. But if a P5 school has a 60-70 RPI, it's how many quality wins do they have (out of 20 chances). Ohh, 70 RPI P5 school must be > than 30 RPI middy.

                              • Let's say we took 2 games in the BFA, but we dropped a couple in conference to bottom dwellers. Does that hypothetical get us comfortably off of the bubble? Just because of the quality wins? I guess I'm not smart enough to understand. Stampeding through the league doesn't mean **** i guess.
