That's pretty cool that you got it on the Matrix. How did you end up doing it?

It's really as simple as just throwing together a free site/blog and shooting the guy who runs it an e-mail with a link. I had always assumed he had some sort of google doc or some way of compiling every bracket but as far as I can tell he does it all manually for anyone who wants to contribute a bracket. The guy really does an insane amount of work.

I'm really sorry, for your sake, that you are that unnecessarily pessimistic.

18-0 in MVC play and even a loss to a Thursday night team on Friday wouldn't keep the Shox from getting a bid.

          I trust Jamar.

I don't trust that the Shockers will go 18-0. Going undefeated in league play is not easy.

              Has us headed to Orlando,Florida.

There are no top 4-seeds in the same pod in Orlando, so more likely to have seats available.

              • Some of the top analytics gurus in the college basketball world are meeting in Indianapolis to discuss the NCAA tournament selection process.

Possibility of big implications for us and tournament hopes. Not sure what impact, if any, this will have on the selection process this year, but it's a step in the right direction.

                • Taken from that article:

“Sport is imperfect and the game’s by its nature, and so things you couldn’t possibly measure by data and analytics will always be part of the season. [B]This is a good example this year with so many key players missing large portions of games, a pretty significant coach [Mike Krzyzewski] missing games. How do you figure that with data? Some things can’t be.”

We could've used a little help in this area last March.

I’m going to have a strap-on in the meetings to stay up with all the calculus that’s going to be discussed, but I’m excited about it,” said Jim Schaus, the Ohio University athletic director who will be representing the Division I Men’s Basketball Committee.

But seriously, it sounds like they intend to use analytics to help differentiate teams whose resume's have very little separation. It's a good start.

Leave it to Schaus to be the one who has to pound some sense into those committee members.

                            • I'm lost. Can someone tell me what a strap-on is?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
