What is questionable is Clemson in the "First 4 Out" group with an 11-8 record and only 1(!!) win in conference play....

One of which is to the Sooners. I've been rooting for the Tigers to beat someone in the ACC all year. Almost got the Tarheels.

They won the National Championship in football.

          That means something.

I'm OK questioning Clemson's inclusion. Just hate the more general (and misguided) whining I hear about WSU getting passed by someone who picks up a really good win. If WSU picked up a top 20 road win and didn't leapfrog anyone, this board would be livid.

Just asking for consistency instead of hypocrisy.

            • Seems like a good time to point out that Creighton will not be a top 20 win.

              Carry on.

"Will not be top 20" does not change my point. But of course, you already know that and are just being difficult.

No more difficult than someone pretending Creighton-Watson is a top 20 team.

                  • It would be very beneficial if Loyola, Tulsa, LSU, and OU all were able to sneak into the top 100 in the RPI. They are all right on the cusp right now. If the cards fall right we could end the season with a winning record against the top 100.

No pretending necessary. They had a #7 by their name at the time. It is a factual statement that Marquette picked up a top 20 road win. I agree with you that CU will likely drop further, but even today, it is still a top 20 road win. CU is #16 this week.

Do you disagree with me Marquette's road win, however diminished it may be by March, will still be MASSIVELY better than WSU's home win on that same day? Because that was my point. Sorry I didn't spend enough words outlining how I agree with you on tangential issues that I wasn't focused on and that don't alter my actual point.

                      • A new thread will probably be started on this but I just saw that the
top 16 will be chosen on a CBS show 2/11. My initial thought is that
this is a very bad idea when conference champions and tournament
winners have not even been determined.l

                        • The Top 16 will be a mock selection show in an effort to increase transparency. The selections are not binding and will only reflect what the committee would have done as of that date.

                          • I dont think that right now WSU is an at large team. But I think if we continue to win and other teams lose, we will rise by default, and at the end of the year, we will have a case.

But we have to keep WINNING!

This is a good first step. That said, what would be just as important...if not more important...would be knowing the last few at-large teams. If KU finds out that they are a 2 instead of a 1, that's really not that big of a deal. The Beakers will be dancing regardless. It would be a big deal though to find out whether someone like Wichita State is inside or outside the bubble at this point. That's where the bigger questions are.
