Certainly.

They're against everything, almost literally. They'd be happy devolving WSU into a glorified community college as long as they could get their useless English Lit and Pyschology degrees for less money. They care about themselves; they could give two sh*ts about WSU, it's progress and future.

Remember the Wichita CAVE-ers, about 10-15 years ago? The Citizens Against Virtually Everything people? The ones who were against literally EVERYTHING that could help move Wichita forward and make it a better place to live, because it might at some level cost them a nominal sum of their own money. They were against the idea of what would become IBA, against the downtown casino (successfully killed off by the CAVE-ers), against Waterwalk (successfully nuetured and permanently hindered due to the early work of the CAVE-ers and their leader Mayor Carlos Mayans), and so on and so forth.

Well the CAVE-ers had children and grandchildren, and they ended up populating WSU's SGA, and a small proportion of the student body. They're against everything that might help move the University forward, in spite of the fact that: #1 - WSU remains a screaming cheap value as far getting a traditional degree at a real school goes, and #2 - the ideas to move WSU forward might add >2-3% onto the ultimate total cost of their education.

We could call them the WSU SAVE-ers, only they're not saving anything, and are in fact a hinderance to the progress and transformation of WSU. They're more like a parasite or a cancer, actually.

WSU's SGA has been disappointing to say the least.

The WaterWalk was dead, when they refused to pay up for Bass Pro Shop and settled for Gander Mountian. Stupid then, stupid now.

I can more understand the casino argument, but that was dumb as well. Schools can't buy books in Wichita, while kids are running around with iPads in Mulvane.

"Just had a good chat with Wichita State's Gregg Marshall here in Indy. He thinks the Shockers could be top 10 next season. I'm not saying he wouldn't listen to any of these openings, but don't mess with happy is a saying he believes in. My opinion: Would have to be a can't miss for him to leave. Wichita State wants to be like Gonzaga and Butler where the Shockers can get neutral site games against high major schools or home and home series outside of the region."

Interesting... thanks! Much of my family was a CAVEr but they realize no they were stupid at the time. I do which they would've put a local coffee shop in there but I don't drink coffee nor am on campus so it doesn't really matter.

So was my business partner, especially regarding Intrust Arena, he voted against. Sure enough he has been to more concerts there than anybody I know. I flip **** on that. He is a good sport about

The fans and Fred Glass are the two things that will keep HCGM out of Bloomington. Could he win a National Championship at IU? Absolutely. I think he could win multiple championships at IU. But having to deal with a petty politician as his AD, and with delusional fans who think that if you aren't winning it all every year you're a loser, will, imho, keep HCGM at WSU. Living in Indy, I have to listen to this soap opera all the damn time, and it never stops!

As a Hoosier (native of Indiana, NOT an IU fan!), I would love to have Marshall in Bloomington. I just think he's too smart.

I just saw a post on their board concerning Brad Stevens adn the expectation was that he would "Be in the final four every other year and win one or two NCs in a decade" paraphrased - but still accurate.

Rejecting the casino in DT Wichita was one of the worst decisions this community has made, IMO.
