When did we play in, let alone win, the Preseason NIT?

It was the post season NIT I was thinking of. Yeah, I don't think WSU has ever been invited to the preseason NIT - not enough "blue" in our logo.

Success spoils the fanbase. We had a lot of success under Marshall, but we got knocked out in the 2nd round with a #1 seed. We also got beat in the 2nd round the year we had Shamet, Reaves, Frankamp, McDuffie, Morris, etc. Fans were not happy about that outing. It's not easy to keep things in perspective when you see other teams having more success.

He just always wanted to go somewhere warm.

But a trip to NYC during Thanksgiving week would be legit. Not inexpensive by any stretch, but plausibly doable for our fanbase.

I can absolutely see why Kentucky is disgruntled after the last four years.
