Alberta Premier takes Biden to task over energy policy. I love this. What could possibly be a logical response to this from the Biden Administration? The answer is nothing. We turned our backs on cheaper, cleaner, logistically easier oil and pleaded with OPEC, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela to help us. In what world does that make sense?

The premier urged the U.S. to import more oil from Alberta instead of relying on nations such as Russia, Venezuela, or OPEC members for additional imports. The energy committee is chaired by Senator Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.), who has called on the Biden administration to increase domestic oil production and cease imports of Russian oil following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion of Ukraine has proven the danger of allowing dictators to dominate global energy markets and weaponize oil wealth,” Kenney told senators.

“And that’s why we were, frankly, so taken aback when President Biden vetoed the Keystone XL pipeline,” Kenney added. “It would have safely delivered 830,000 barrels a day of responsibly-produced Canadian energy to the U.S., more than displacing the 670,000 barrels a day that you all bought from Putin’s Russia last year.”

“Senators, Calgary is a lot closer to Washington than Riyadh,” Kenney noted.

Government does much more harm than good when it comes to business. They block/don't approve certain things to help protect their friends rather than creating competition which benefits the end users. Some goes for the pharmaceutical industry and others as well. We will all benefit if we can ever get people in government that will get government out of the way.

That I cannot answer.

I just have a hard time blaming Biden for things that he obviously doesn't know or understand when it's apparent to anyone who even remotely pays attention to anything that he's not really in charge.

The thing is, we knew he wouldn't really be in charge when he was running as these things were already pretty well known and seen prior to the election.

But this is also what happens when the two major parties continue to run bad candidates and many feel they have to vote for the less bad option, or simply not bother voting.

I agree that Biden has some degree of dementia going on. But I think there still is enough cognition there to understand that he is being used and guided. However, he is okay with that as long as he gets the perks of playing president. In any case, even if Joe is totally oblivious Dr. Jill Biden is perfectly capable of knowing what is going on. But she likes getting to play the First Lady role too much herself. And there may very well be other nefarious reasons for the Bidens to play along in order to avoid some major legal entanglements. Very possible the Biden's have been balckmailed to go along by their own "supporters" and puppet masters. This way the puppet masters get what they want but Joe gets top take the heat for the decisions being pushed on him.
