For the rest, I could say that it's bound to happen, now or very soon, with or without this disease, or with the aid of the next disease. We are a nation of advanced science and technology with unworthy health and fitness (by too many).
If one wonders why our health care is so costly take a look at https://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/adult.html .
"From 1999–2000 through 2017–2018, the prevalence of obesity increased from 30.5% to 42.4%, and the prevalence of severe obesity increased from 4.7% to 9.2%."
We're not talking just over-weight here.
It's the reason I get so pissy when National Health Care is brought up and that I'll have to pay for it while so many of have little to no skin in the game.
But back to the thread subject. This kind of battle between our science/health care vs too many of its citizens lack of personal health responsibility will continue when these viruses come around. We could have such an advantage over other countries in these situations.
