  • There is little chance Wiggins to Cards has any truth to it. I give us as much chance as them which is almost nothing. Florida State is now the guess of 5 ESPN experts. The other two pick KU.

    • Florida State certainly didn't show any "family" feeling for Nick, so any "family" ties will be on the Wiggins' end. ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING is better than Kentucky.

Many Kentucky fans are already annoyed of no longer being the perceived favorite.

        • Why all the Kentucky hate? Louisville is just as bad!

The same ESPN experts that had WSU losing to Pitt, Gonzaga, La Salle, Ohio State and to Louisville by double digits? Or are these recruiting experts?

Does it matter? All of them get paid by the same place.

Living in the area, you may be a little too close to the situation to have perspective since you deal with annoying things out of both fanbases. From a national standpoint, there may not be a single fanbase as arrogant as Kentucky basketball fans. Sure, with all their success Louisville will have a big chunk of clueless, arrogant fans, but there is enough of the fanbase that remembers where they came from and remembers constantly being little brother to UK that the entitlement is not as pronounced. The same could be said in the state of Kansas on the KU vs. KSU issue (expect for KSU's lack of success compared to UL). Living in the state, I often feel that KSU fans are just as annoying as KU fans (and they often are), but on the national stage, there is no comparison between the entitlement radiated by the one compared to the other.

                • It is just as bad... When Noel went down late in the season, Louisville fans were posting pictures of it and all of that. I was somewhat surprised when Ware had his injury that the response from Kentucky fans was actually classy...

With that being said, our game against Louisville has helped shut up most of the Louisville fans here in the city that have laughed at me for years while rooting and sticking up for the Shockers... It's a great time to be a Wichita State fan!

I honestly doubt that Nick Wiggins wasn't in touch with Florida State. If for no reason other than because getting Nick would have made getting Andrew easier.

I believe Nick looked at both teams and thought he'd have a better shot at playing in his two years at WSU. WSU has a proven track records with JUCO players that FSU does not have, and when Nick agreed to come here, WSU had a much sparser roster established for his first two years (there isn't one player for next year that was established at a position when Nick was being recruited). FSU's roster was more set for this last year and next year, with Ian Miller already fully established as a SG in the same class as Nick -- and Miller was ranked #37 in the country by ESPN as a recruit, and 5*'s by Scout (he might have been able to play in a three guard lineup like we had last year, but we also had two established sophomore forwards and three 7'+ guys at center this year). The depth chart at least appeared more favorable for him at Wichita than at FSU. I have no doubt that Nick Wiggins doesn't want to be a backup, because he wants to play in the NBA, and his decision was based on playing for a good coach while at least having a legit shot at being a starter one of his two years.

247 Sports has FSU listed on his schools of interest on his recruiting profile, although without a scholarship offer. I have no doubt FSU was recruiting him due to family ties and ability, and he chose to go to Wichita State instead.

                            • Yes. I hear a rumor everyday. Some from what seem to be reliable sources. But really. At the end of the day, who knows? Does Nick even know? Probably not. He may know if we are in the hunt.

My two cents based on what I have heard from a pretty dang reliable source is that the short list is not 2 schools but 3 schools. And one starts with a city in Kansas.
