    • FSF will sleep with one eye open and my ears to the track until we get our Twin Towers here at 21st and Hillside. I did get to watch EO play some last summer. He is an quite and athlete an oozes with talent. It appeared that he has much to learn to fine-tune his overall game. However, he seems to work very hard at improving and is a class act. I feel very good about our chances of EO being a Shocker some fine day. He can run the floor, alter and block shots, has some range on his shot. When he receives the rock in close, his dunks are like a thunderbolt!!! U like?

Along with this subject, I still think that Garrett Stutz will keep improving and will be quite a Shocker player before he graduates. Thus, can you imagine our future front-line in the years to come? We will have solid guards that will be able to dish the ball to our inside players in key spots that will vastly improve our field-goal percentage.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

      • LOI

Royal, why do you (and others, if anyone else wants to chime in) believe a letter of intent from Orukpe would be binding at this point? I thought it was one per player, good for one year, and that Orukpe had already signed his.

By the way, I also believe he will be a Shocker -- I'm just skeptical that a letter would be legally binding, although Marshall may well want one as a way of reaffirming the commitment, just as Turgeon did with Fridge Holman.

LOI not binding, but how early could he sign papers for financial aid? That is the "commitment" for JUCO players, I believe.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

                • I think we have to assume that EO is not under the radar (very few 7 footers are) and that there are numerous BCS schools who will go after him with everything they've got. Wouldn't we?

Having said that, for some reason, even with all the fiascos associated with his getting over here, his HS diploma, etc., I still feel that EO will honor his original committment to GM, and will become a Shocker.

This whole matter has been a very difficult road for all concerned, especially for EO. And I would not be surprised to see another obstacle or two before this is finally successfuly settled.

I do fear, however, the 90% index is rather high.

                  • I'll put my over/under chance of EO becoming a Shocker at 99%. Anything can happen, but from everything that has been said and done, getting him out of Nigeria, the support here last summer, meeting and getting to know players, etc.

I do got my Shocker prescription glasses on, so take it as you will.... 8)

Plus, Royal already has a sign for him....

                    • not only will EO come here but in my opinion the 6'9 junior nigerian over at sunrise who is being recruited by all the big schools will come here with him
