That's indeed the case.

The major difference between signing a LOI and a scholarship agreement is it is not a recruiting violation to make contact with the player after he signs only an agreement. Scholarship agreements are usually used only after the late signing period is over. The reason is probably because the school only offers a LOI when it is permissible. It is obviously to the school's advantage.

LOI not binding, but how early could he sign papers for financial aid? That is the "commitment" for JUCO players, I believe.

I was bored and reading through the NLI policy and JUCO transfers can in fact sign NLI and it IS binding. You can only sign one NLI in an academic year and must attend that institution unless released from it. By signing a NLI, Ehimen would not be allowed to be recruited by other schools. If others contacted him after we'd received the NLI it would be a recruiting violation.

Only 4 centers earned JUCO AA status...1 1st team, 1 2nd team, 2 HM.

Whether he is a good sparring partner or not, he is one of the best JUCO centers in the country...til next year!
