Andy is one of only 2 bracketologists to beat the matrix as a whole, on average, over the past 5 years, and his margin over it has been very slim. Gotta give him credit though. Quality work.

The matrix as a whole right now has WSU at 9.77

Like when we had to play Kentucky? Reverse karma this year

      • Honestly, I totally get the narrative that our resume is very poor. Chances are we won't have a single win against a team that's going to be in the dance. We are hanging our hat on a win against ISUr, whose only real quality win is against us. The MVC is a joke this year. If I was looking at our resume as non-biased as I could, I would say we are an 11 seed.

All that being said, resume and actual quality of a team are two different things. This team IS one of the top 20 teams in the country and has the talent and skill to go deep in this years tourney. No one will want to see us on their side of the bracket. We will be given a seed that is way below the actual quality of this team because our resume is trash. Some of our non-con opponents and the MVC really let us down this year.

          • Seth Greenberg agreed with me that WSU would be high on the list of teams other coaches would not want to see in there bracket.

              Would love a 10 seed.

Can't you see them creating another messed up regional like that again?

Edit: Also, very intereesting comparison involving 2014 McDermott, im4. Striking similarity to Baker, although Ron's ball handling is obviously much superior. Given Ron's skills on defense, this may bode well for his future, especially if he gets with someone that plays actual team basketball (although he does seem to have the advantage right now of a coach who appreciates where he's coming from). Just two things: 1) We've obviously sold Little McD short on athleticism -- he managed to block an NBA shot; and 2) How the heck is Ron only shooting 60% at the line? I know 20 FTs is a small sample, but still.
I know +/- depend on teammates as well, but look at the difference!

Was NEVER my intent to compare Doug and Ron. Original post said Doud irrelevant and forgotten outside of Omaha. Obviously not true. Particularly to a Bulls fan like me :)

Yet you quickly attacked the comparison with the lame excuse.

Not a lame excuse tho. Ankle injury limited his production. So would you say FVVs reduced production early last season due to hammy would also be a 'lame excuse"

You've got a very difficult conflict of interest on your hands.

This is exactly why having a dozen 30+ point beatdowns of mediocre teams needs to be part of the resume. We know WSU is really good because they beat mediocre teams soundly, night in and night out. To claim any sort of "resume", but to exclude this fact from it, is a sign that the resume structure is highly flawed.

WSU didn't play a 5 game season, yet some try to act like WSU's resume is merely 5 games long.
