Middle Tennessee's resume is significantly better for an at-large than Wichita State or Illinois State. Beat UNCW and won at Belmont by 13.

What are the people over at CBS smoking this year?! They have Seth Davis believing this garbage too. MTSU has home losses to Tennessee St and Georgia St and a road loss to UTEP. Since when did we just start looking at wins and completely forget about who a team has lost to?

The CBS hate is just plain weird. From Gottlieb to Davis to Hackjob to now Rothstein?

I guess if bad losses or losses in general are completely dismissed now, next year we should schedule 12 one and dones at Top 25 teams, take our chances that we can win 2 of the 12, and just lock up our at-large bid by the middle of December.

It's gotten to the point that it feels institutional and intentional. Who knows where the bias is rooted, but it sure seems to be there somewhere.

I'm sick of these talking heads using RPI. MidTen is 4-1 vs. RPI top 100. We are 2-4. But when you look at any advanced metric we are "significantly better." They are 5-1 in KenPom, we are 5-4. We just don't have the 3 losses outside the top 100 like they do. RPI is a joke. Surely the committee will see that RPI is the outlier with us. We're in the top 20 of EVERY other metric.

I'm not going to give them that much credit. The "Top 16" thing they did showed they are REALLY valuing Top 50 RPI wins and SOS as their primary choices.

CBS put their chips on the RPI when they brought Palm on board. Now the committee that selects teams for the tournament they broadcast is de-emphasizing the RPI.

It appears to me they are trying to legitimize the usefulness of a dying metric they invested in.

Rothstein is an AP voter too. Instead of moving WSU in to his ballot this week, he voted in Virginia Tech. He was the ONLY voter to put them on a ballot and he did not have them ranked last week. What did they do that was so impressive? Beat 4-10 in the ACC Pitt by 3, then lost to Louisville. That Quality loss moved them up. They have won only 2 out of their last 5 games ...
