Greg McDermott will be a janitor mopping the bathroom floors of an empty Centurylink Center in 10 years.

Bruce Weber will confirm he was taking hormones to feminize his voice over the years and will change his name to Caitlyn. By 2025, he will have transitioned himself to head coach of Kansas State's premiere athletic program - equestrian.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

      • Goodness -- Dana Altman "just" missed? I get the missed part, but really -- just barely?

Well the author DID say "I'm not sure he'll ever leave WSU. Has the most secure job behind Coach K"

Kind of invalidates the entire article, doesn't it?

That shows you how closely I read these things once they seem to launching into the usual BS. lol.

Comments like that kind of makes you want to kick a ball into the stands, doesn't it?

I think your meter reading may have been higher than Altman's career winning percentage (.557) at KSU, Veritas. To his credit, though, he's continued to improve everywhere he's gone: he was .536 in one year at Marshall, .557 at KittenU, .650 in his long stay with the Jayboys, and .683 so far at Oregon.

For perspective, Altman's non-rival who moves around somewhat less, and is currently ensconced in that highly secure Wichita job the writer referred to, was .700 at Winthrop and is now .729 (and climbing) at WSU. Maybe if Altman can keep it going at Oregon before too much of his roster ends up suspended or in jail, he'll reach the point where his best percentage at any school exceeds Marshall's worst at any school.

                      • "Nevada travels to national power, Wichita State on Dec. 22 to complete the nonconference portion of the schedule. This Shockers have appeared in the last four NCAA Tournaments including a trip to the 2013 Final Four. The 2014-15 team went 30-5 and lost in the NCAA Sweet 16 to Notre Dame.
“We are very excited to play two extremely challenging road games at Wichita State and Oregon State,” added Musselman. “Gregg Marshall does a great job at WSU and it is one of the toughest places in the country to play. They have sold out 31 straight games at Koch Arena and have won 32 consecutive home games, which is the third longest active streak in the country."

You could get a Sweet 16 rematch of Notre Dame-Wichita State in the AdvoCare Invitational but that's not the only reason to watch.

"...It has that subtle attractiveness. A legit national championship contender (Wichita State)..."

                        • The Shox have become a national "name brand". It's one thing to have Seton Hall say that their prime TV game of the season is against WSU. It's on a bit different level when USC brags about their game against the "national power Wichita State"

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                          • Thanks, Reaper. I read Medcalf's piece about the Advocare, and he is VERY impressed with the Shocks -- as well he should be, of course, but we don't always see credit where it's due for a team outside the Power5.

                            • You can make an argument for Kentucky, Kansas or even Arizona. But if the question is which program is best positioned to succeed over the next five years, the answer is the Duke Blue Devils according to our program rankings.
