  • Phog.net Doesnt understand our program. Here are a summary of their concerns

    1. CF cant play D

3G has proven time and time again he knows and can teach D

    2. CF isnt a team player

He played 2min per game at KU- How do they know.

    3. CF was only great in High school because he jacked up the ball 30+ times a game

WSU’s system will get CF his share of looks. RB, FVV and TC will teach him discipline

    4. CF’s Dad is a pain, that KU couldnt take.

CF left KU, KU didnt ask him to leave. I heard the same about Perry Ellis’s Mother. Sounds like overblown BS to me

    5. The players KU has now are leaps and bounds better.

Have watched every KU game so far, I havent seen it yet.

CF looked good in KU/Stanford last year. This kid came up big in a high stress situation.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I don't know. All I know is that the prodigal son returns.

      • Great decision, Connor. It has always been great having a home grown kid playing for the Shockers and now you will have every chance in the world to contribute to the outstanding tradition of those who came before you.

You may want to re-read the article because you missed this...........

“I want to help Wichita State win games and do whatever I can to make that happen. I want to be a great person in the community. And I want to help Coach Marshall out because I know how much he’s going to help me.”

          • Bob Lutz takes a lot of flack here (some perhaps deserved) but that's about a good a take and article as you could ever want.

Anyone else feel like running through a wall right now?

            • So. If hes gonna be eligible at the 2nd semester next year. Does that mean he is going to run out of eligibility after the first semester during the 17-18?

                • I figured for sure the BIG EAST and its grand allure had this one in the bag. I mean you have tens of thousands quiet drunks (soon to be thousands), ESPN's equal in FS1 broadcasting all your games, and the great history and tradition of one-and-done Creighton basketball.

                  Is Conner thinking correctly?

No, he only has played one year. He will sit out this year. He'll sit out first semester next year and play the second semester (3rd year). He'll then be eligible for two more years (4th and 5th years). He has four years of eligibility to play in any five years.

By the way, we will have played 7 games this year by the time second semester eligibility comes around and we will play 30+ games this year. This year, he would have been able to play in over 75% of our games.

                      • I love having local kids on the team. Wessel is obviously a hometown kid. Baker is a Kansas kid. Adding Conner will be fun.

Oh, and I think he might be decent at basketball too. :encouragement:

No. It doesn't work like it did back in the days of Dave Stallworth. You have 5 years to complete your 4 years of eligibility. If you check in to any game during a season you have used up 1 year of eligibility (unless you qualify for a hardship waiver due to injury, etc).

He used his 1st year of eligibility at KU last year. He will not play in any games this year. He will have 3 years remaining to utilize his 3 years of eligibility heading into next year.

Once he enters a game next year (2015-16) that uses his 2nd year of eligibility.

At that point he would have 2 years of eligibility remaining and 2 years to use those. That would be 2016-17 and 2017-18.

He can not play beyond the 2017-18 season without a hardship waiver.

                          • I just had a good laugh. I ventured over to the K State fan forum to see what their conversations were about after last weeks losses to Long Beach State, and the Pittsburg beat down. They were making some comments about Conner and WSU that were patronizing. They basically said that Conner couldn't make it in the Big 12 and that this was a good fit for him because he would work out better in a mid-major place like WSU and the Valley. Again, this is after they just lost to Long Beach and they are patronizing a Top 10 (ranked 8th) Are they kidding? :)
