          #34 Rivals, #46 ESPN

          4 stars on both

4-star. I believe Rivals had him the highest out of the popular recruiting services.

            • But does anyone know if we're recruiting him?

              • I've posted in this thread before against the CF addition - both in a serious tone, and a sarcastic tone. Unfortunately, I will be what many consider to be anti-social, and remain on that base. At once I am both cautiously pessimistic on the inclusion of CF into the WSU program, AND fully supportive, bought-in, and enamored with an absolute stud like 3G manning our bridge. In spite of the thrust seemingly coming from many on this forum, the two concepts are possible in a mentally-concurrent manner - critical thinking skills of an evolved species and all.

My concerns center directly around the emotional intangibles here - a trojan horse of sorts. It seems many sources echo a sentiment that CF and his father are as one, and as one they are a high-maintenance, self-centered PITA. Even the emotionally stripped-down media reports of the CF-KU separation reveal as much in a patently obvious manner. This all in a WSU program that has built its success on selflessness, NOT the converse. It scares me a bit, and unless you are sunshine pumper extraordinaire it should be cause for at least a tiny bit of concern for every one of you as well. Many believe that cliff the program fell off of from 05-06 to 06-07 was a clear and direct result of team chemistry, NOT talent.

The silver lining on this predicament is quite comical, no matter one's bent: That being if our program remains on current trajectory, AND CF comes in and makes a significant and tangible impact (without being a team chemistry dirty bomb), the bloody vajayjays in the KU circles (circle jerks?) will be a spectacle to behold.

                • I'm sure the opportunity to learn first hand the nuances of being a great point guard from THE BEST EFFING POINT GUARD IN THE WHOLE DAMNED COUNTRY had little to do with influencing his decision.

I understand your points and I think they're valid.

However, I don't think it's going to be a problem. Marshall doesn't strike me as someone that's going to allow an outside party to have influence on his team, and he doesn't strike me as someone who is less than forthright with recruits. I expect this has already been dealt with.

At this point I'm just not worried about any of the things that Marshall has, given his long track history, proven are constants on his teams: defense, rebounding, PG play, selflessness.

CF (and his father) seem to have made the correct decision for his NBA potential to me. Kansas was going to keep him as a spot-shooting SG. At WSU, he'll have the opportunity to mature in the PG role under an AP All American and one of the best PG coaches in the country. If he wants to have any shot at the NBA, buying into Marshall's system seems far and away the better path than continuing in KU's.

Redshirting doesn't have anything to do with it. CF has used 1.5 years of his 4 years of eligibility, as of his departure from KU in 12/2014. He will then have an NCAA mandated 1 year to burn in no-mans-land while he pays his own way, and acts as a shadow member of the squad. Then, when 01/2016 arrives he will officially be on the WSU roster, where he will have 2.5 years of eligibility remaining - meaning roughly a 1/2 season of play via spring 2016, then two full seasons thereafter.

A point of minor correction - Conner will be eligible at the end of the fall semester next season, so roughly a week before Christmas. This should be worth an extra 5-6 games versus waiting until the spring semester begins.

He will likely be able to play 20+ games next year.

I didn't know that. That is actually a significant difference.
