Conner Frankamp is a Shocker

I assume Conner can go public with wherever he decides he will be going at anytime. However, am I correct in believing that 3G will not be able to comment on Conner until he is enrolled in school at Wichita State?

I'm less convinced of Taylor's talent, especially when compared to Hamilton, McDuffie and Shamet, but I've been wrong before.

It's kind of funny that you say that as I see him as sort of the new Cotton type player, who it seemed was somewhat of an afterthought compared to some of the other guys in his recruiting class on here. Taylor is supposed to be an amazing defender who also has offensive game; I do admit that I've probably seen the least amount of tape on him compared to the rest of the new guys though.

I think Conner could announce. Recruits announce all the time that they have made a verbal commitment to a particular school. However, the Coaches can't comment on a player until they sign an LOI. In Conner's case he will be a walk-on for at least 1 semester (and perhaps 3) so he won't be signing an LOI. My recollection is that once a player is enrolled in school then the Coach can comment. However, I'm not positive about that.

I'm pretty sure you're right about all of that. This is where we find out what Conner is really made of, if he's willing to walk-on and earn his spot on the team, I would hope that would shut up all the naysayers

If I was Conner, and was attending KU, I wouldn't say a word publicly until the semester was over. You'd have to deal with a lot of crap no matter what school you were leaving. Back when it came to light that he would be leaving, I felt pretty sure it wouldn't be announced until after Thanksgiving. Well, Thanksgiving break is over and there are only ~ 2 weeks of school left. We will hear something soon.

I thought the same thing about the Taylor/Cotton comparison when I posted that. It absolutely could be the case. Also, although I'm not super excited about Taylor, I think he was a good addition and will be a good player.

After much though, I guess I'll toss my two cents into this "debate." And all I want to say is: The recruitment of Conner Frankamp shouldn't even be a debate! If 3G is entertaining the idea of offering a spot on WSU's roster, be it a walk on position, or scholarship one, then who are we to question his judgement? Has 3G not made believers out of you yet? I think many of us are allowing the sting of perceived rejection (the top scoring Wichita City League basketball player ever, choosing KU over WSU, how could you?!) cloud our judgment. But we shouldn't let it. Conner having gone to, been at, and played for the school many of us hate should not matter. If any other "underperforming" top 100 recruit decided to transfer out of any other Blue Blood university after their freshman year, had WSU on their short list, and was surrounded by an air of mutual interest between, then I for one am willing to bet all those on this board would welcome said player with open arms. Neigh, they'd claim a coup! Why are we not in this instance then? This could be the biggest coup to come along in some time. A City League great who decides that it is not big bad KU that satisfies his desire to play for the best team in the state, but rather it is WSU. To me, this is a no brainer as far as the long recruiting game goes in Wichita for 3G. If Frankamp decides to come to WSU, how great would it be for 3G to be able to tell any other city league great that may come along that the dream of KU isn't all its cracked up to be. The dream is to put on a Shocker uniform.

IMO this is the best possible outcome for the Shockers should CF join their team. Coupling this scenario with continuing demonstration that Marshall is a superior coach to Self would be most impactful for the future dominance of the Shockers in Kansas basketball.
