At least except for the AACFAN guy they aren't mean...just a little strange. Now when one of them takes the name Uncle Fester it will be weird.

I was there last week. It's mostly an industrial wasteland, but i had some good food there, so there's that.

I've always respected Fran Dunphy's ability to coach. He also had a pretty good team a few years ago when we played in the Puerto Rico tournament. He always gets a LOT out of his players.

Not only that, Philly Cheesesteaks are great and there's always the ocean if you want to go across the Delaware River and drive a few miles to Jersey.....

              • Football at WSU can work. I was able to win 12 National titles in a row on EA Sports NCAA 2005. And I started from scratch.

How many losing seasons did you have to endure before you really got things rolling?

                    Freshman difficulty doesn't count.

On top of that, this area will not support football, it has proven that many times.

Many times? Chainsaw Lew killed football in 86, that was 30 years ago. A lot has changed since then. If we want to stick with the AAC football will be a must. Things will continue to change with membership, losing Cinci and UCONN at some point is likely. Navy going back to independent could easily happen as well. At some point they will look to us for Football to help the conference. We need to be ready. Maybe it's a 10 year silent campaign fundraiser, maybe it's trying to get an FCS football squad started, or maybe it's getting a new stadium sight picked out and quietly bought. All I know is that we are now back with the schools that made up the Valley of Death. We got left behind last time because we could not adapt and we're happy with the status quo. We need to make sure that doesn't happen again, we won't get another chance with a conference like the AAC.

Well I was able to go to a BCS bowl year 1 on All-American so there!
Though I doubt my strategy of moving my biggest WR to TE and picking on LBs all game would work in real life...

If/when WSU receives the $100MM football donation, it could happen. In 1986, I would have bet everything I had that football wouldn't be successful in Manhattan, Kansas. That area of the state would never support football and had proved it over and over again. Bardo isn't stupid; nothing would surprise me with him at the helm. I might know more than you think or I could be talking out my a$$. I'll let you decide. Unless you're a part of the 'inner circle'? I'm guessing you're only speculating...
                              Agree

3 years ago, after I retired, a friend and I were playing Braeburn regularly when the Innovation Campus concept became a hot topic. The Pro said it would be a couple years before anything would happen to the golf course. Two months later it was closing.

2 years ago Dr. Bardo sent O'Naughty on a fact finding mission regarding the possibility of football and conference change. Tomorrow we become part of the AAC.

Football has not been taken off the table, at least not to our knowledge. Those who want to say that football definitely is off the table may, and I do say may, be standing on the tracks.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.
