At some point they will look to us for Football to help the conference. We need to be ready. Maybe it's a 10 year silent campaign fundraiser, maybe it's trying to get an FCS football squad started, or maybe it's getting a new stadium sight picked out and quietly bought. All I know is that we are now back with the schools that made up the Valley of Death. We got left behind last time because we could not adapt and we're happy with the status quo. We need to make sure that doesn't happen again, we won't get another chance with a conference like the AAC.
I find it extremely hard to believe the AAC has ANY interest in sponsoring a fledgling football program in a state that has consistently shown football will not be a success(white-haired wizard excluded). If the AAC is looking for a football team it WILL NOT be us. They would look at how to make a western division with schools like Boise or BYU work before they ever considered sponsoring the tall task of dragging us into football. And if it's a slow silent campaign on football it's far too late. Football will not move the needle like it does now in 10 years.

    • I don't see how moving to the AAC adversely affects football. Im not necessarily for it, but if there is a needle between yes and no on the ultimate decision on football, i would say moving to the AAC moves it in the yes direction, even if it is just a slight tic.

      • And im saying that needle rests pretty damn close to no as of right now.

        • Don't know if anyone else just heard, but Carlton Bragg is transferring from KU...

          We could use a 6-10, 5-star transfer....

Not a fan, but it would be funny to take him and turn him into a phoenominal playr...

            • Also for reference, the only states that would have a lower population per FBS school ratio than Kansas if we added FBS football are: Idaho, Wyoming, and Louisiana. Louisiana has the advantage of being right adjacent to Houston/Texas though.

I mean, he would sit out one year, then be a legit starter, unless Asborjn's progression is well under-par. I'd really like to see it, personally. Couldn't hurt us going to a bigger conference (both literally and figuratively).

In no way, shape or form does he fit the culture at WSU.

The "many times" refers to almost every home game that WSU had for about the last 15 years they had football.
To say football is a must to "stick with the AAC", is just as wrong of a statement that can be made. The AAC is not looking at us for football now or ever, just ridiculous.

I'm supportive of anyone HCGM feels would add something to the team, however, I have concerns about this man's character. Too many recent scrapes with LEO for me to be enthusiastic about him at this point.

Is he allowed to stay in the State? I mean for legal reasons - not because Self would forbid it. It seems KU has several players who might want to leave the area. I just can't keep track of all of them, so I don't know if Bragg is one that KU might want to sort of "go away".
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
