I believe part of this also reflects why he isn't a bigger "scorer" in games. His stature (call it speed, call it size, etc.) doesn't fit with a self-shot creator. If open he can hit. But, he's frequently the one designing the play, not finishing the play. And, I'm ok with that. This is the role given him by HCGM, and he's doing it well. I just wonder, when he shoots well in practice, is this live situations or shoot arounds? Because I can't see him jacking up a lot of shots in practice running the offense as he is doing in games. -

Watch Austin Reaves. His shot is smooth as silk with a high release. It translates much better to game speed than Conner who has kind of a low/slow release.Comment

This is right. Conner has been taking good shots. He was a 50 percent 3 point shooter at one time and with the good shots he has been taking, there is no reason for him not scoring on 50 % of his shots again. You don't totally and permanently lose a talent you already have. He just needs to get his confidence back. What's confounding is that reportedly CF isn't just an excellent shooter in unguarded drills but in practice which is going to simulate game situations.

That's what I was wondering...unless they are practicing NOT getting Conor a shot, his in-game performance is puzzling. Perhaps it is more between the ears. I always believed that the only way to get better was to shoot more; I always thought the way to get out of a slump was to shoot your way out.
