  • I was gonna be real pissed if the two teams immediately behind us picked up enormous road wins tonight on the heels of Louisville losing earlier.

UNC's choke salves the pain. Iowa State still has Texas in Austin this weekend, no gimme for sure.

        I'll hang up and listen.
Well I think the #1 and #2 seeds are all but locked up for 8 teams right now in some order (Kentucky, Virginia, Duke, Wisconsin, Gonzaga, Villanova, Kansas, Arizona) while there is a chance someone else could move in front of them if 1 of those teams has a couple more losses I think that Northern Iowa and Wichita State absolute best they can get would be a 3 seed but my thinking is this.

If Wichita State wins the final regular season game neither team loses any other games vs anyone else then the winner of the MVC final will get a 4 seed and the loser will get a 5 seed.
Now that is a pure guess not knowing what other teams will do around them.

I think the upside is winner gets 3 seed/loser a 4 seed and downside is 4 seed/5 seed.

There is a chance both get 4 seeds as well.

Too hard to call right now

UNI continues to play really good basketball. I doubted that they were a legit top 15 team, but I'm becoming a believer. Maybe even top 10 worthy!

Hard to believe we could see 2 protected seeds in the MVC in the same year. I could easily see UNI/WSU grabbing a 3 and 4 seed
When UNI plays an atletic team that can defend #10 Tuttle well, then UNI will have some difficulty. Double teaming will not be necessary and the perimeter defenders can play UNI's 3 ball shooters much tighter. With a hand in their face, they are reluctant shooters.

Four of UNI's best 3 ball shooters are slow, white guys - #14 Nate Buss 40.3%, #4 Paul Jesperson 44.0%, #5 Matt Bohannon 37.3% and #33 Wyatt Lohaus 46.4%. These guys are deadly, when left open.

It is amazing how often Tuttle will drift out to the 3 line and he is not guarded. While he has only put up 35 shots, he is UNI's best 3 ball shooter at 48.6%.

I think you are probably off one seed line on all of your estimates, of course a lot of this depends on what other teams do, but here are my thoughts.

UNI wins both: UNI 3, WSU 6
            Split: UNI 4, WSU 5
WSU wins both: UNI 6, WSU 3

This seems most right to me. It's just really difficult to find a team that either UNI or WSU can pass in the top 8 teams.

                    • Utah was leading Oregon State 16-14 at the half. Sounds ugly. The 2nd half has only been marginally better, with each team scoring five in the first five minutes.
