I don't get the Syracuse love. They were about four points from four straight losses. Lost to a 6-19 team at home.

MVC Weekly Coaches Phone Call Interviews
Paul Suellentrop asked each Coach for their thought on POY. Jake was great, talked a ton about Tekele. Lusk seemed slightly confused by the question. Coach Lansing said it's WSU's team, he can't narrow it to 1 player. He did say he likes guards, and Van Fleet (that's what it sounded like) is the guy we can't afford to lose. Sounded like 1 vote for Fred. Also mentioned Ronnie Baker and how good he is and how much improved Cotton is this year, throughout the year. Marty passed mostly as he seemed to be in a hurry to hit the buffet, not that there is anything wrong with that. Barry....man that's worth the price of admission every fricking week. He's AWESOME. Barry said he already voted and asked if it was okay to tell, so he said he voted for the short guy. VanVleet is his choice for POY. Porter will throw a dart between Early, VanVleet and Baker. Probably Early or VanVleet. Also said if Cotton was on another team he have monster numbers. Says he's a lock for Defensive POY. Paul's question was the only one for Porter.....ugh. Muller said POY is between Ballentine, Lofton and Hunter although he admitted Hunter has been a little up and down. Seriously though he said Ballentine, Lemon, Early and VanVleet. Geno Ford thinks we're pretty good. Geno thinks Marshall should hand the award to whoever he wants to....It's a question for Gregg, not the rest of us. They're all deserving. Doesn't take away from the other good players in the league, but we're supposed to be winning games. Marshall thought 4 should be All Conference but wouldn't really speculate on POY because he can't vote for WSU guys.
Ray Giacoletti was a no show apparently.Last edited by WuDrWu; February 25, 2014, 01:56 PM.

^^^^^^Barry calling FVV "the head of the snake" made me laugh out loud. Gave me away here at work. One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

A million times THIS RT @tsnmike: Wichita State is undefeated -- so how come so many want to tear them down? http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-bas...issouri-valleyIf you're not going to go all the way, why go?

Click on: Journey to the Tourney: WSU
Seth Greenberg with an interesting point about the Shocks getting used to being in a one-and-done situation because any loss probably knocks them out of that coveted #1 seed and it's been that way for a while now.Last edited by 1972Shocker; February 25, 2014, 03:10 PM.

Geno said he thinks 3G should just hand the award to whoever he wants but not sure it would be any easier for 3G to do that than for the other coaches to pick a guy.
I think FVV will win with a possibility of Co-POY with Cle (similar to Chelsey and Ashley sharing the VB POY award). That would not surprise me at all and perhaps would be the fairest outcome.
