I'm really surprised by the poll results. I'm guessing a ton of people flipped us and Florida. I'm guessing they flipped us because they're all sheep and they saw that Florida was 3rd in the AP last week, even though those that had WSU at #3 were the majority.

I think that point has already passed. I don't think wins @Indy State and @UNI are going to convince the Seth Davis' of the world.

That's interesting because Seth is on record for saying the Valley home courts are the toughest in the country.

The last time we were 2 in any poll was the 81/82 season. Ralph Sampson and Virginia were #1. It was short lived. We went to Hawaii and dropped games to NC State and Rice in the Rainbow classic. A few weeks later, we got slapped with 3 years probation.

How long has the coaches poll been around?

Coaches poll has been around, in one form or another, since the 1950-51 season. It was known as the UPI poll for many years.
