He had the Shocks at #6 last week. Good news! He also moves SLU into his top 25 at #21.

          • Bret Stelow's ballot is out and he improves WSU two spots to #10 this week (he had WSU @ #12 last week). He also improves SLU 7 spots, moving them to #18 his week. One of the more interesting things about his ballot is that he actually improved Iowa St. 3 spots even though they lost to Ok. He moved them up to #7 this week, after having them at #10 last week: http://www.fayobserver.com/blogs/spo...9bb30f31a.html

            • I hope we can see a few more ballots. Based on the 7 ballots we have seen so far, there is a fairly good chance that Villanova could jump WSU. On the 7 ballots we have seen so far both Florida and Nova have made bigger gains than WSU. Nova has gained a net of 14 spots, Florida 14 spots and WSU 10 spots. It is a very small sample, but if the remaining 58 ballots average the exact same movements, WSU would only edge out Villanova by 24 points (1296 points to 1271) points for 5th place. Florida would remain behind the Shockers and Nova with 1182 points.

It is only 7 ballots and it is extremely close between Nova and WSU. Based on these 7 ballots WSU should end up in 5th place, but it is going to be very close, and Nova has a good chance of jumping the Shockers. It does appear that WSU should be in no worse than 6th tomorrow.

SLU has appeared on 6 of the 7 ballots and was ranked as high as 18 on one of them. It appears that there is an excellent chance SLU will be ranked tomorrow.

                • Doug Haller improves WSU 2 spots from 13 last week to 11 this week. He also improves FL 2 spots from 8 to 6 and Nova one spot f rom 6 to 5. He does rank SLU at 21. He also is spotlighting the 4 unbeaten teams and predicts when each will lose (he predicts WSU will lose at Indy St): http://www.azcentral.com/insiders/do...ig-games-more/

Like I said last week, it will not be surprising to see us tuck where are at for a couple weeks. Conference play in the top conferences is giving lots of teams opportunities for quality wjns.

It will take losses for teams above us and below to push us any higher, and the fact that we are seeing teams jump multiole spots right now shows that voters are only willing to go far in voting for a team like the Shox when we don't have similar quality wins.

We will likely have to get past ISUb before get any more voters pusing us higher.

                    • Nova was 61 points behind us last week, so they have to net 61 spots more than us to jump us. Florida was 151 points behind us. I se them closing the gap, but not jumping us.

                      • Good news @shox1989:! Mark Berman has the Shockers at #8, had them at 12 last week.

On that same ballot, Nova only gained 2 spots and Florida gained 3 spots.

That is good news! I am starting to feel more comfortable that the Shockers narrow lead over Nova is going to hold. I am looking forward to seeing the Shockers come in at #5!

Based on the 8 ballots we have seen so far, Nova is the only one that has any chance of jumping WSU. Overall on those ballots they have made up some ground but based on those 8 ballots not enough to pass WSU either but it could be close.

Shocks at #5 is pretty much a stone cold lock.
