In all seriousness though, which method do you think kids would respond more to? I feel that when kids see a coach who is outwardly fiery and passionate they will gravitate towards that and have that same passion.

All that to say, I don’t fault coaches for dressing down a bit. But I would love for a coach to show up in a three-piece suit and a driver’s cap and say, “Sonny, I’m here to coach.” Would be awesome.Last edited by Kel Varnsen; January 17, 2023, 01:36 PM."In God we trust, all others must bring data." - W. Coaches across the board are dressing more casually after COVID, and I gotta say, I would prefer a quarter zip and slacks as opposed to wearing a suit. I’m all about comfort. And for most college coaches, it’s more likely to hide their gut haha. Hell, even Jay Wright was wearing quarter zips last season.

Can’t hide anything behind an untucked polo shirt.Last edited by Shock Top; January 17, 2023, 02:42 PM.The Assman

Also, the smart casual look can be fine, if they put some work into it like P.J. Fleck at Minnestoa
I will forever be team suit-and-tie, but if coaches at least gave an effort to look look sharp in the dressed down look, I could buy into it more. The Assman

He currently makes $285K/season base.
Been doing it quite while. 49 years old, iirc. Lots of solid assistant coaching experience along with being the all time wins coach at Kent.
Here's his breakdown:
