  • The question then becomes: how many no-votes are required to keep us out of the merger? We know we'll immediately have 2 no-votes from the Cacklin' K|Uckheads and the MildKittenz. But OSU, and Baylor have recent knowledge of our program, facilities and what it's like to come to Wichita (OU as well if they were asked lol). I'd like to think they all have a neutral-to-positive opinion. We played Tech and beat 'em back in '09 fwiw.

You'd think we'd get yay's from our current conference mates... but there's a slight chance we get negged by UC, UM, or UH. Man... that would suck if it happened.

Wildcards would be ISU, TCU, WVU. I bet the Clittens would be at the Hawkeyes house every Friday w/ free beer and pizza talking **** on us non-stop. *sigh*

It's gonna be interesting no doubt... if you find anxiety interesting... :/

    • Navy/WSU are much safer than some other members, should any be on the metaphorical chopping block.

      • The truth is, a merger is a last alternative. The first alternative after getting denied by all the power conferences, is to just stay at 8 and not dilute their brand/dollars. IF somehow they find that their overall share will be greater with additional AAC schools, then they will add 2 or 4. I cannot imagine they would ever go beyond 12 teams unless it was w/ other power programs. Beyond UCF, UC, UM, and UH/USF/Navy there's just no math that will reflect a net positive gain.

This perspective puts us on extremely thin ice.

We need the Big Pee to come through for us.

Staying pat without a Media partner is a horrible alternative.

ESPN has shown they want out. Fox declined to pick up the Big 12 Championship game WITH OU/UT ... So they are likely looking to get out too. A conference is dead without a media partner.

C'mon man, be serious. The Little 8 will NOT be without a media partner. If the AAC can get a media partner, the L8 can as well. You are essentially inferring that the L8 is "worth less" than the AAC. That's insanity to anyone outside the AAC. Their facilities alone absolutely DWARF the AAC's. You'll have somebody like FS1 for the Big Pee come along and offer them a boatload of cash. Maybe Amazon Prime? They have trillions they could flush down the toilet if they wanted.

If they were so insignificant, then why would the top AAC teams be willing to chop their pricks off to join? Why would you **** yourself if the Shox were invited to join? Be real bro. Cincinnati is at home right now beating off to Twitter every time they hear their name mentioned in the same sentence as Big 12.

Bolded part .. EGOs ... They remember what the Big XII was .. not what it is now.

The Big XII is most of the AACs high school crush. They wanted her so bad back in highschool. Now that we are here 15 years later .. they are blinded to the fact that she's 75 pounds overweight, 5 kids, divorced, smokes too much and missing a few teeth from the drugs. They just remember the smoking hot girl from high school.

                  • If the 8 teams remain, any media deal they get would be miniscule compared to what they would see from merging with the AAC or any other conference. They have ZERO leverage with any media negotiations, which are largely driven by football.

But but but, they are the chosen ones!

                      • I don't think anybody wants the the leftover teams. If Cincy can make more money by joining them, Cincy will go.

No more so than me. This issue could still be in the process of being solved for an entire year. This is still new right now, but speculation could get tiresome, contentious, and full of rumors.
