Keshawn Embery-Simpson: 6-3 Jr. G played in 12 of 14 games averaging 19.2 minutes in the games he played in. Averaged 3.6 PPG, 0.8 RPG and 1.3 APG.

Josh Earley only played 29 minutes spread over 5 non-conference games. A non-factor on this year's Tulsa team.

I don't think this is all that significant to Tulsa.

I would think that anyone who is playing 19+ mpg would be a factor whether a team is good or not as good. He is getting that 19+ minutes because he apparently is better than the alternative and/or gives relief minutes to others.

His minutes were already on the decline. He averaged 23.3 MPG in his first 7 games and 13.4 MPG in his last 5 games. In his last 5 games he scored a total of 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 turnovers.

Embery-Simpson did not play against Temple last night. Looks like his decline in minutes over his last 5 games we going partly to 6-4 Southern Miss grad transfer LaDavius Draine. Draine had played in 10 games prior to last night. He averaged 4.8 MPG in his1st five games and 8.4 MPG in next 5 games. In the previous game vs Memphis Embery-Simpson played 13 minutes and Draine played 12 minute. Embery-Simpson scored 2 points on 1-4 shooting and had 1 rebound. Draine scored 5 points on 2-6 shooting and had 2 rebounds. With Simpson not longer available Draine played 29 minutes against Temple. Draine scored 12 points on 4-5 from the field (4-4 on 3 pointers) and had 3 rebounds. Interestingly, in the Temple game Tulsa only made 6-23 3 pointers.

Embery-Simpson was 10-29 (34.5%) on his 3 pointers and Draine is 8-19 (42.1%) on 3 pointers. Neither take a lot of shots inside the arc nor get to the line much.

Now is there a big fall of in defense? Who knows, but if he was an outstanding defender why were his minute going down.

You may be correct in your assessment but the details and the trends seem to indicate it won't hurt Tulsa that much.

Guessing this will open the door somewhat for Sterling down there. He played eight minutes last night and had 2 points and 2 boards.
