Gregg Marshall doesn’t take time off for personal reasons three weeks before the start of the season, he’s too competitive. This tells me he’s gone, even though he shouldn’t be. WSU is making a big mistake letting him go, guilty or not.
Rumors of being escorted off the campus wouldn't surprise me. Imagine being served a notice of termination for cause with no door prize. How would you expect GM to react?

This could become an ugly divorce proceeding.
Well if his defense is he didn't hit a player or that he doesn't have an anger problem, not trying to fight the person that delivered the termination notice would be a good start. I really hope this isn't true. But if it is, it probably confirms that the right decision was made.

I’ve been escorted off the premises of a job before for something unfounded. I can’t blame anyone for venting in that situation. If you’ve been there, it feels like it’s meant to humiliate (no matter what the intentions are).

Some companies escort anyone they let go.
They don’t let you clean out your desk or anything.
As I’m sure you could guess, not the happiest experience one can have.
I think some companies escort employees off campus as a policy. I left my last job on good terms and had someone escort me out because it was company policy.
They just did a multi month long investigation. You don't do a multi month long investigation and then still fire the coach unless that investigation found evidence that was "substantive proof"
Not necessarily. You could feel that the PR hit is too much. Not saying they didn’t find proof, just that there are other justifications that could exist and this could be a red herring.

That just isn't logical though. If PR was the only reason, he would have been fired or at least suspended when the news broke. By all appearances WSU did everything in their power to try to keep him.

Well, you’d have to measure the PR of firing back PR of keeping and work that through the boosters. It makes sense.
