Maybe I don’t listen to him enough. All he did is whine about it for 15 minutes, moaning about unconditional support, and he ended the conversation when Bruce said he would have zero issue with he son playing for Marshall.

The mere act of placing your hands around another person's throat will get that person's undivided attention. Example,,,when a Marine DI puts his hand on your throat ie a DI choke hold even if he applies no pressure I can assure you he will have that person's undivided attention. So perhaps this was a "teaching moment" and Marshall wanted his undivided attention.

My father played for Jack Hartman and tells stories of how he would put his hand on the back of your neck and squeeze... he showed me the move while watching a KSU game once. He assured me the player was in pain, but it didn't look like more than a neck massage to the average observer. Point: there are several ways to "place your hands" to get attention that aren't choking but also aren't pleasant. Perhaps this is what Marshall did; if so, innocent.

Sounded like a radio sports show to me. "Something New" regarding HCGM and WSU basketball, let's fill 15 to 20 minutes with it. One shoots out questions/theories, the other makes comments. Even Bruce's comments regarding his feelings if his son had wanted to "walk-on" under HCGM really didn't tell you what Bruce feels about the situation. As Dennis said, "Let's kick the can a little further down the road" and that's what they did.

I respect your opinion but in no way did I find Shane to be whining. I'll say this about the majority of ICT media, they pretty much treat GM and any coach around Wichita with kid gloves. I think it's par for the course with small to medium size markets. Look at some of the larger AAC media markets and I am skeptical that GM or any Wichita coach would have a similar relationship with the local media...say a Dallas or Houston
