I didn't get that read. I do think that football is coming back in some capacity because of what he said and what Bardo said last week. However, I think that they are reading the support for it to decide at shat level it will come back because he did mention that the P5 leagues had to bring more schools on board before we could find another league to join and that could be anywhere from 1-3 years to happen.

He did say that if we join the Valley for football, it would mean that we are making a commitment to the Valley.

In the "Alive in 95" scenario they also talked about taking a couple of years to build numbers for football. Year one would recruit a freshman class plus juco players and redshirt the entire recruiting class. Practice and hold scrimmages the first year. The next year again recruit a freshman class and juco players. Play a schedule beginning the fall of the 2nd year and determine which if any of the 2nd year group to redshirt.

Perhaps the type of athletic director they would be interested in varies based on the future direction of the athletic department. You might need and/or attract a different pool of candidates based on whether or not you are starting up a football program.

I wonder if WSU is a step up from Ohio if football is added.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

Not sure what Jim's family situation is but he may not be that interested in trying to resurrect a football program that previously died from natural causes 30 years ago. In many ways WSU would be starting from less than scratch. OTOH perhaps it is a challenge that would energize a guy like Jim. However, I am not holding my breath on that one.Last edited by 1972Shocker; May 31, 2016, 10:16 PM.

So, bring back football and fill the void left by Oklahoma.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I hope WSU isn't the football equivalent of the girl who just got Ugg boots in 2016.
