I might even contribute, and I hate soccer and would almost certainly never attend. Boring, boring, and more boring. It's the only sport I can think of where they can do a "Goals of the Day" show that includes not just the highlights, but all the goals scored that day.

What has the attendance at FC Wichita matches been running? I assume tikcet prices are pretty reaonable.

I think they have had pretty good teams haven't they. They are still functioning aren't they?

You are right, lots of great soccer in the Wichita area. KC and OKC can be draws too. Plenty of good players out there.
The talent is out there in this area no doubt about. I would expect it wouldn't take long for the Shocks to have very competitive teams. Not sure about specatator and funding interest however. Clearly, there is some. Just not sure how deep that runs. Obviously, WSU would add soccer if it makes economic sense and if it doesn't they are unlikely to add it.

He has Wichita pinned where Rapid City actually is. That's the Black Hills, and a great place to live, honestly. If Wichita could magically resettle where Rapid City is, I'd be thrilled. Not a joke.

Not a big fan of soccer either, however I’ll support ‘tiddlywinks’ and ‘skee-ball’ if it benefits the university…

Love the Black Hills although not sure about in the winter. A beautiful area. But if Wichita was in the Black Hills WSU would most likely be in The Summit League.

Is women's mud wrestling an NCAA sport? If not, can we start a trend here?

And that is the question that would have to be answered. How and to what extent do the benefits outweigh the costs? If they do it will be added.

There are a lot of donors with kids that play soccer. I'm sure donor support would be there.

Winter in the Black Hills offers downhill skiing at several resorts, an extensive snowmobile trail system, cross-country skiing, and so on. (To say nothing of the numerous summer activities available that we don't have in Wichita or KS, all in a much more hospitable summer climate.)

Winter in Wichita is still cold enough to off-put the warm weather types or really do much outside, but instead of things to do in the winter we sit around in our basements and stare outside at the brown grass and leafless trees. Whoopie!

That may very well be the case. Although if it is it begs the question why don't we already have it?

                            • Dom Amore, the University of Connecticut men’s basketball beat writer for the Hartford Courant, says that UConn will support Wichita State’s admission to the American Athletic Conference.

Don't know if this was posted. But confirmation that UCONN is on board (the administration at least)

Not sure, it's definitely grown in popularity recently, so maybe its a recency bias thing?
