Bill McGurn writes an article on the fiasco in Afghanistan. He says that Joe Biden wanted to give a speech where he was the conquering (so to speak) victor as President that ended the War in Afghanistan by 9/11. Instead, Biden ensured that the 9/11 motto of “Never Again”, which was the motto established at the World Trade Center will never be owned by the United States. Instead, the Taliban now owns 9/11 as Victory Day,the day when the Taliban defeated America.No different than VJ Day was the day forever known as the day we won the War over Japan.
Notice the picture that goes along with his article, where the Taliban made a picture that mimics the United States Troops, erecting the flag following the bloody battle of Iwo Jima (only the flag they erected was the Taliban flag. The ridicule heaped on the United States military will forever be etched on the minds of terrorists and their recruits. Mark my words. Terrorism will come to American shores again.

If the Taliban takes 20k American citizens hostage, which is what is happening if they aren't letting them leave, why is that not worthy of a formal declaration of war? Especially if some start being killed.
Biden could regain some credibility if he just mobilized the 82nd Airborne and told them to go get our citizens and kill anyone who stands in your way.
