  • Royal -- Your comment about the Texas players is reminiscent of Sullenthrop's comment about JT Durley, had JT played in the City League. The essence of his comment was that if JT had been playing there in Wichita, in high school, he would have been a big story. (No pun intended)

Down here in Texas, except for a few people, he was largely unknown.

So your point about comparing Wichita talent to Texas talent is a valid one.

    • And I'd say that some of my fellow Shocker fans get way too caught up in PPG and those stats. I don't. The talent level one plays against and with has a huge impact on those numbers. If PPG told everything Chance Lindley would have ended up being in the NBA HOF. But those who saw him play know he wasn't a great talent. He took a lot of shots on a weak team and ended up at a small college.

Cyphers is good, I think Kyles is better.

      • There is no way anyone knows which one is best. We got Kyles and Utah got Cyphers so be it.

That's true. Maybe in a couple of years there will be hard evidence one way or the other.

Nope, but we're entitled to our opinions and there's nothing wrong with talking about it. Most of us hope Jordan has a very good career out there.

            • I for one hope Cyphers is the second best player in the nation and Sub is right that Kyles is better.

              • Quick Question:

Did Cypers SIGN or did he just give them a verbal?

                Comment

                • I'm fairly certain he signed.

                  • If he hadn't signed, coach still wouldn't be able to discuss him because he would still be a "potential recruit."

                    • He did sign.

                      • Jordan is averaging 6 points a game and is the 2nd guy off of Utah's bench. Plays behind some solid guards. They blew out Missouri State earlier this year. They play at OU this Saturday.

                        • They must not be a deep team. He averages less than 9 minutes per game. In three of their games he played 5 or fewer minutes, including against MSU.

His 10+ game minutes came in games that were decided by over 10 points.

JC is still coming off the bench averaging 13 minutes and 5 points for a 3-4 Ute team.

Still think JC is ahead of Kyles?

                            • whooaaa and Kyles is averaging 6 ppg correct?

Utah has beaten a top 20 team and he is playing behind an all conference guard.

I like Kyles, but not totally convinced yet. Has has played good lately but the last few games against Alcorn St, and Texas Southern, do not mean much in my opinion.
Kyles points against Pitt, Iowa, Cleve St were 0, 2, and ZERO.
