To put it another way:
You know how WSU sometimes has a 'knack' for letting one opposing player have a career day against us? Where they're just unstoppable, hitting clutch shots left and right? Take that x 10.The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

While I was and still am a supporter of Coach Turgeon, I was mightily confused, when he sat Gal down.
Sometimes, it is necessary to accept some deficient performance, when the whole is dominating.
At times, I think Coach Turgeon had way too much starch in his collar. Sometimes, he sacrificed outstanding play for technical perfection.
If the 5 problem is solved next season, we have a chance to be a very good team and Gal will play a very big role in the success.
They can start the season tomorrow, if they wish. I'm so excited. I just can't hide it.

"Gal was what we thought he was!!"

Last season I found myself asking the question “why did Turgeon recruit Gal if he isn’t going to let him play?” Simply put MT’s rigid system did not align with Gal’s skill set. I wonder if Gal had any idea that MT would shackle him the way he did?

Turgeon valued seniority considerably, it would seem, and always tried to make the older players the leaders and the younger ones roll players who were leaders in-training.The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

The thread is susposed to be about Jordan Cyphers and I want to get back on-topic. The odds are stacked against Jordan making it to the NBA or making a lot of money playing in Europe. Eventually Jordan will probably need a "real" career and, by going to Utah, I think he is losing an opportunity.
In Utah, Jordan will be a "nobody" (other than a recruit they want). Suppose he had decided to come to WSU, he was successful and the Shocks had some good runs in the NCAA tourney while he was here. He would have been the local guy who helped WSU to success and I think his economic opportunities in this area would have been great. Of course, one might think of the Barry Sanders window commercials. I am thinking more of Cleo Littleton and Antoine Carr, for example. (Of course, Dave Stallworth is also widely respected locally even though he was from Dallas. http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/athletics/ ) I don't think this is important now and it may never be important ... but who knows? Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:

Lots of people interested in WSU sports read ShockerNet. Players, parents, highly rated recruits & recruits in general, the media, etc."Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."

Geez relax man, he is just an 18 year old kid doing what he thinks would be best.
There are other fish in the sea, move on.
