"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:
--------------------------------------- Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare: "We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said: "That's the definition of a stool sample."
Just the posts with his itinerary. Nothing like the twits about his visit to Washington State. And there was a lack of twits going to him from fans and players that occurred when he was at the wrong WSU. On facebook he posted a picture of a Shocker #11 uniform and said the display was sexy. I'm assuming #11 will be his number. Washington State used the same number for him.
Early will be visiting San Diego State this weekend. At the same time, SDSU will be hosting Sklar Spencer, a 6-8 PF from Los Angles who also has offers from Gonzaga, Cal, USC and Colorado. He is Rivals' 124th ranked prospect for 2012.
I would imagine that should help our chances with Early. Don't think he'd want to go to a school where he's going to have direct competition in the same class, and even on the same visit.
"I was actually really close to (committing)," Early said. "On all of my visits, I definitely enjoyed myself, but I can't lie San Diego was probably my best visit."
We don't have a Rivals or Scout writer for him to give a glowing report about his visit to Wichita State. Still, I don't feel good about getting Early.
Don't be so worried, trop. I've been to all of the places Early has visited or will except for WSU-Wazzu, and despite my many years in Wichita, of which I'm a booster, it's almost inconceivable that San Diego would not be his most enjoyable place to visit. And I say that without even having seen SDSU's new arena, which is supposed to be quite the palace -- it's San Diego, for heavens sake!
Still, is SDSU the best place for him to play and fit in, especially with another 6-8 just having committed? The Shocker staff has shown it can sell, and CKA can be pretty magical and inspiring / intimidating, depending on which side you're on -- I'm sure someone will show him the recent comment from Jay Bilas, which was not something any pundit said about San Diego (or Waco, Tuscaloosa, or Pullman).
