Don't think anyone is saying we won't find a spot. Just hope it doesn't sway him away is all. I guess he will go where he wants, so hopefully he will just want to be a Shocker. We will find out soon enough I suppose!

If a player the level of CE calls and says "I'd like to be a Shocker", do you 1) say come on down and assure yourself of who, by your evaluations, appears to be a great catch, or 2) ask if he could wait awhile to see if Ellis or Thurman decide, sometime, and take the risk that Ellis goes to KU, GT goes to Iowa, and, in the meantime, CE commits elsewhere?

I'd like to see the top local talent stay at home as much as anyone, but if the coaching staff feels they're a dark horse for PE and neither he or GT are willing to commit, you've got to do what's in the best overall interest for the program. Besides, if PE wants to come to WSU, room will be made. Sorry, I'm not sure the same can be said for GT.

That means, next year, we will have Hall, White, and Early as PF's. And in 2013, we will have White, Early, and Watson.
I think that this group will also take a little pressure off the 5 position as well. It will give the staff more options.

We just beat out Washington State, San Diego State, Iowa State, Alabama, Missouri and perhaps Baylor, Marquette and even Pitt. Marshall said we are going to get some players.

Man, Washington State and Alabama have to be like...."We lost to them...AGAIN???"

                    • I don't think all these supposed PF's will end up at that position. Durley did well in the post at 6'7" or 6'8" and some of the guys signing now seem to be better candidates for success coming off their So years than Durley.

If Ellis is afraid of the competition at his position from the group WSU has signed, then he has no business signing with KU or Kentucky.

I think Marshall will go after one more recruit. I think it will be narrowed down to either Hield or Ellis. I have no knowledge, but there is a rumor out of Iowa that Thurman will not qualify.

I suspect Marshall wants the ability to go 6'6" or taller at SF against some teams (not Valley teams). Setting up a team to play in the Valley and against BCS teams requires a lot of interchangeable parts.

Considering that Ellis is still undecided and not many give WSU much of a shot, signing Early was huge. If Ellis chooses WSU, then possibly someone gets cut. Possibly someone decides the competition at WSU is too tough and decides on their own they want to leave. If there are more players Marshall wants to sign, the scholarships will be found. That should be a great motivator in practices.

Marshall has been good at finding homes for players, so the players are generally taken care of even if they leave.

                      • Both Ellis and Early are very athletic and versatile. I think that possibly one or both are capable of guarding a smaller three guard lineup. This year we saw Aaron Ellis and Gabe Blair both have success doing just that as long as they didn't have to chase them around the whole game.

                        • so is he from NY? or just playing there?

If he is from then WSU will have 3 NY'rs on the squad next year. Doesn't mean anything just that the only other ones I can recall in recent times would be Fridge and Ramon.
