Probably doesn't help the cause, but I don't think you can read too much into it. I don't think the coaching staff would have told Early that he needed to wait until an Ellis decision.

OK let me be the first to ask now that it seems CA has announced his intentions to become a shocker....where the hell are the scholarships going to come from? He looks to be a tremendous player and I am very glad he is coming here but where does this leave us in regards to PE and GT?

Maybe they're making the assumption that some scholarship players won't be returning next year. We always seem to have one or two leave every year.

We could have one scholarship left without anybody leaving. Or, we might not.

Well that clears things up and gives me a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

This is a terrific get for us. He's one that I wanted to be a Shocker.
That means, next year, we will have Hall, White, and Early as PF's. And in 2013, we will have White, Early, and Watson.

Glad to get a player like this. Doesn't give me a great feeling about landing Ellis as we are filling up fast. But who knows! I love the recruiting the staff has been doing regardless!

It is kinda scary getting so many JUCO's, but they are some game changers so you go with the best players you can get. I guess having players for only a couple years is no worse than the "big boys" that get the one and done or two and done players. They are constantly replacing players also.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Cleanthony Early | 6-8, 220 lbs. | Sullivan CC (NY)

Early had many division 1 junior colleges perusing him when he left Mt. Zion Academy, but he wanted to play near his home town so he chose Sullivan CC. Early was named NJCAA Division 3 Player of the Year as a freshman.

Early handles the ball well and is at his best when running in transition. While he is extremely skilled on the offensive end, he may be an even better defender. His length and timing allow him to block or alter shots at will.

I hear the concerns of fans who just have to know exactly how scholarships are being handled so I'm sure that when Ellis decides that he's coming to WSU too, we'll turn him down and tell him he can't. ;-) [/b]
