Yes and we might not have many more 2012 openings left. Advice to those who have unconditional offers is take it now if you want to be a Shocker.

Would love to get him in a Shocker uniform. If not him, then Darnell Harris.

This guy, who is planning to visit and Gavin Thurman who has us in his top two are now my favorites.

I would bet the last 2012 skollie goes to somebody 6'7" or 6'8".

I'll say that I think I'd rather have Buddy, but would take either of these two as well.

Can't see how we could take another guard.

If he plays like Buddy we would.

"Cleanthony Early (6-8/220/SF/Sullivan CC) has seen his stock rise quickly after a great summer and has lined up four out of his five official visits. Early told me by phone that he has taken an unofficial visit to Iona recently and will take official visits in the near future to Wichita State, Washington, San Diego St. and Iowa. Early said he will wait to decide on where to go for his final official visit, but it will be between Marquette, Pitt and Alabama. He has also picked up recent interest from Missouri, Arkansas and Hofstra. Early said he doesn’t have a leader yet and will take a hard look at all of the schools who are pursuing him."

For some reason, my gut is telling me Early could be a game-changer. But he's yet another juco guy. On the other hand, I hear the pre-season Big East POY is going to be Marquette's Darius Johnson-Odom, a juco kid from Hutch CC.

So when was the last time we got a player who came to us as a pro prospect, no less a 6-8 pro prospect who could be a guard in the League?

Mo Evans probably was the last.

Plus, we have exactly 0 people in our current sophomore class, so it wouldn't exactly be the worst thing in the world to have at least 1 player added to that class, especially one of this caliber.

                              Yep

Second that, Doc. There are special cases, of course, but in general it's kind of tough to get a sophomore who's eligible right away and isn't a juco guy. So I'm not concerned about that aspect of Early's recruitment.

I like four (or five) year players as much as the next guy, but I've always been a little mystified by the jucophobia we see on here. It reminds me of the way some people want baseball teams to build through their own organization and farm system and avoid free agents -- you know, the way the Royals have?

Cleanthony is building a nice fan base here and I hope he sees it.
