  • Cleanthony Early-SHOCKER!!

6-8 SF at State University of New York (SUNY)-Sullivan. He was a freshman last year after taking a year at a prep school to improve his academics. He had D-1 offers both out of H.S (Pine Bush, NY) and while in prep school. I'm assuming he must graduate from Sullivan to be D-1 qualified but I'm not sure.

He is now on an unofficial visit to Iona. The Shockers, Washington State and George Mason are also in on him.

Recruiting information came from a twit by Justin Rodeiquiz of the Times Herald in Middletown, NY.

Assuming this is pronounced Clee-Anthony and not Clean-Tony or Clean-Thony?

Just trying to understand how a parent looks at their newborn child and decides "Yup, he certainly looks like a Cleanthony to me."

        Just wondering. 8)

Report on Cleanthony at the Mullen's top 100:

"Cleanthony Early (Sullivan CC) proved that he didn’t have any problems playing against the best JUCO players in the country. Early’s length and athleticism gave defenders fits. He is extremely skilled for his size, 6’8, can defend multiple positions and excels in transition. Early has excellent body control when attacking the rim and pounds the offensive glass.

Early had many division 1 junior colleges perusing him when he left Mt. Zion Academy, but he wanted to play near his home town so he chose Sullivan CC. Early was named NJCAA Division 3 Player of the Year as a freshman. Early handles the ball well and is at his best when running in transition. While he is extremely skilled on the offensive end, he may be an even better defender. His length and timing allow him to block or alter shots at will."

If we cant get Thurman Id like to get him and see him play the 4. 6'7 Ede at the 3 and 6'8 combo forward at the 4 that shoots the 3 and is a shot blocker. That should cause some match up problems for the rest of the valley

                  Early to visit Wichita State

Other visits to SDSU, Iowa State, and Washington State.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Just in case you missed it in the article above:

He sounds pretty good, just wondering how he compares if we happen to get Harris this year or Ellis next year, would we still be recruiting him? Sounds like his recruiting is blowing up pretty fast with lots of schools interested in him.

Also, it said he was skilled offensively, but did not give a range for his jumpers.

Early's visits will take place in late August and early September. I think he could pull the trigger soon afterword and have a feeling the Shockers are in pretty good shape with him.
