I would take it out of the "alleged" category.

Danny Ainge was in the Athletic Department offices a number of times in recent years.

It taxes my memory, but I think the first time was around 1999-2000 and then some later appearances.

Some say he was interested in the coaching job and others say he was serving as a voluntary consultant to repay favors from the past.

I suspect J. Schaus is the only person, who really knows. I bet he is not telling.

        My sources tell me "many".

        • After HCGM took over the team from last year, along with some good recruits he quickly located to add with them for this year, I find myself appreciating his perception of the recruits he is now bringing in for next year. Won't it be nice to have tall but talented Twin Towers? Next, since we are presently in last place on 3 point percentage in the Valley, it was great to see the "lights out shooters" he is bringing in here next year.

FSF still has hope that EO will get here and that he is a player that will really help our Program. Seeing him in there with GS and RC exites me about our ability to swat away or alter some opponets shots and get our share of rebounds.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

          • FSF: I am looking forward to our guards being able to take chances on the steals knowing the opposing guards won't be able to drive and will still have to settle for a longer range jump shot due to the "GOLD MONSTER" that GS, EO, and RC will represent.

            • This whole thread is pretty funny. Every two to three pages, there is a post from someone stating that "you will hear something this week." That then drives multiple follow up posts of people saying he may be at the airport soon or I've heard some rumblings about his arrival as well. The hopes of posters then goes way, way up and discussion about twin towers ensues.

Then, there is a quote from the Eagle or Marshall indicating that there is no new news, followed up by posts sad about the news. Hopes then diminish again

Then, the cycle starts all over again. Maybe everyone should just ignore all these "updates" and just wait until there is some news from an official source. The roller coster of emotions won't be so traumatic...

              • Is anyone else getting tired of hearing about the Nigerian Nightmare? Write me when he's spotted at the Cedar. Until then, let's root for the good guys that are currently busting their tales for the sake of our enjoyment!

Considering the Cedar is now closed, you will never be written.

But I agree. He probably wouldn't play this year anyway... so he's low on my list of things I could give a crap about.

                  • I just heard when he will be in Wichita..

when his plane lands, sometime in March or April. He will play over the summer getting in shape and up to speed with "Coach Brauer", and will be ready to Rock the Roundhouse in October.

                          Stay tuned.
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!
