Orupke is having an impact on the program - although, so far, it's not the way we expected.
Orukpe was influential in WSU signing Uwadiae and Ede. Ede was instrumental in getting Anacreon signed.
I was never counting on 3 productive years from Orukpe. 1-1/2 was more in the range I was expecting. That's still possible.
I'd take Orukpe getting the fouls down to one every 5 minutes and the turnovers at about 1 every 8 minutes this year. That would give him the capability of playing 25 minutes before fouling out and having 3 TO's in that time.
I don't care if he's a 50% FT shooter and won't get more than about 4 baskets if he plays 25 minutes. His D and rebounding were there last year. He just fouled so often and threw the ball away so often that he couldn't be left on the court more than a few minutes. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

We need productive minutes from Ehimen to reach the goals this team has set for themselves, but the young man is just struggling with the game.
If EO could get some help and advice from both Lester Hayes and Xavier McDaniel, he would address his 2 major shortcomings and be a dynamite player this year.

Turnover should also be doable (16 turnovers in 98 minutes).

Bump...so the Ellis thread in recruiting has a target!"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

I have not written EO off yet.
This year if he can go for 10 minutes a game and all he really does is defend and board, I'll take it. If he has learned any offense other than a dunk, that would be a plus.
Next year, if he has some offense - enough that he has to be guarded on the block and elbow - and can get through 25 minutes without fouling out, I think he can be a memorable Shocker.
Hall might see some minutes at post in 2012-13, but I think Orukpe gets the bulk of those minutes. He might still be a bit raw on offense and might not be real good at playing within the offensive schemes, but he will certainly affect the opponent's game plan. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

EO has improved a great deal from when he got to ICT.Shockerland is in for a pleasant suprise. He's raw on offense still but finishing above the rim. What's lacking on offense he more than make up for on defense.Someone said he was a quick learner and it's gonna be sweet to see him get some court time.

Regardless of how much court time EO sees this year, he will at the very least be a valuable practice player. He provides a big, aggressive body for GStutz and the rest of the bigs to go up against. I think that made a big difference in the NIT run. Hopefully it will lead to bigger and better opportunities this year.

It sounded as if Ehimen made quite a bit of progress in Brazil and appeared that he could step up and contribute as a defensive backup. Offense is whatever at this point.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
