"I not sure that I've ever been around a more competitive player or young man than Fred VanVleet. I like to win more than 99.9% of the people in this world, but he may top me." -- Gregg Marshall 12/23/13 :peaceful:

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".
A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Early in the race, the media talks about the obvious "names", not the best candidates. The public then see these names being constantly talked about on TV and the newspapers. This feeds the media to talk about them even more.
Thus, the media defines who the "electable" candidates are before the public even has a fair chance to evaluate other candidates. This is partly the fault of the general public for relying too much on the media and partly the fault of the media for not giving all candidates equal time and treatment. I know they aren't required to do that, but it would be the responsible thing to do. (Yes, I'm laughing inside.)

I'd like to see real debates, with specific answers to questions. Examples: Do you believe in evolution or are you a potential Kansas Board of education member? Why is China our friend and owner of much of our debt and Cuba a country to be shunned? Next time we start a war will you endorse drafting the children of the Congress and Senate?
Ahhh, but to dreamUnleash Brett Burley, let all tremble before him!!!

Pardon me, Royal, is this now a political discussion forum and no longer ShockerNet? I enjoy discussing politics, but let's keep this forum what it is supposed to be!
If I want to discuss whether McCain, or Clinton, or Obama are worthy candidates or not, I can go to the Wichita Eagle discussion forum for that exercise.
I come to ShockerNet to keep abreast of Wichita State athletics and would like to keep it that way!
This thread has drifted far from the original discussion -- escaping from Nigeria -- "Out Of Africa."
Moving on.

This topic has taken on a life of it's own and drifted off on tangents a time or two. But it always comes back.
