Hahahaha! His longest write-up of any team is about us. And at the end, he talks as if we run a risk of losing to Missouri State. Just like last game when we played Evansville, he was like "but they have to get past Evansville first" almost as if he was hoping we'd lose. Now I know no games are guaranteed, but come on. This really has become an emotional issue for him.

At a certain point, I would think constantly taking issue with a team that clearly belongs in the tournament will just turn out to be an example of "there is no such thing as bad publicity"

If all you do is constantly throw cold water on a team that no one is even disputing, you are just going to end up guaranteeing that they are noticed and paid attention to. He may end up getting us a better seed because of all this nonsense.

Let's take one sentence of his as an example:

The only thing about this season that Wichita State could not control is that the MVC is having its worst season since 2003. Of course, they are part of that problem

1. I don't know that I think this is the worst season since 2003. I guess it depends on your metric. Last season, for example, there was no way we were going to get a second at large team. Sure, UNI had some quality wins that the conference is missing this year, but they weren't getting an at-large. Their 16-2 year was the only time we had two legitimate at-large teams since the Creighton years, as far as I can remember.

2. He says we can't control the MVC being down, but then he says we can in fact control it.

3. Even if we could control it, how are we contributing to it being down? If every MVC team were as good as we are this year, we'd be the number one conference in the country.

4. How about any of the 10,000 things that went poorly for us in the out-of-conference slate? Teams that had injuries after playing us, teams not doing as well as we thought they'd do this year, or a team like OkState that could've won a national championship that night in Intrust, but then look mediocre the rest of the slate...

When you're calling a Top 25 team, with a 26-4 record, 16-1 league record, and metrics that say they are even better, part of ANY problem, I think the problem may reside in the mirror.

Or he is just fearful that the momentum Gregg has built will continue for years to come and Wichita St will continue to displace shitty P-5 schools from getting their rightful at-large invite. Whatever it is...it sure smells "elitism".
