Brown averaged more minutes than Grady or McDuffie, but perhaps fewer minutes are more appropriate for those categories

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:

      1. FVV Coach of Year
      2. Dan Muller
      3. Barry Hinson

Let's see how Marshall does next year without his floor general and on-court coach.
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

He might regress all the way back to the year before Fred was on the team.

You know. Go 16-2 with a MoV of 16.

Wait....that doesn't make sense, because Paris Lee is already better than Fred and Ron put together...

ISUr taking the political discourse tack of throw any old bulls*** out there and SOMEBODY will believe it, I see.

Church didn't make all-newcomer team? That's just stupid. WSU is not gonna get 3 guys on all-defense, just won't happen. If HCGM doesn't get COY, I would not be shocked.

We need at least one major snub for chip-on-the-shoulder purposes and, based on past history, I am confident we will get it.

I'm pretty sure Fred will get POY and I doubt we will get the shared POY with Ron that 3G would like. I expect the DPOY to go to the Big E and the COY to go to whoever they pull out of the hat (a hat which doesn't include 3G's name). I don't think the Big E getting defensive POY is that big of a snub. He had a very good year. 3G not getting COY would be a snub and if it was any conference other than the Valley it would seem too far-fetched to even consider. BUT it is the Valley.

I don't know for sure what team awards, if any, are given but the Shocks had the highest scoring offense (76.0 PPG) and best scoring defense (56.9 PPG) in Valley play and the have margin of 19.1 PPG was 13.2 PPG better then the next best team and this from a team that generally avoided running up the score late in blowouts.

It's anti-Marshall butthurtness like this which should expedite our exit out of this kindergarten conference.

SportsReference is source for PlayerEfficiencyRating, WinShares, and BPM (Box plus/minus compared to average player)
The PER for the 1st, 2nd and HM teams range from 15.5 to 29.8. I've listed other MVC players who played in 20 or more games with PERs in that range

Likewise for the Defensive team, the BOM range is 3.5 to 11.5 so I've listed others who playeed in 20 or more games with BPMs in that range.

Pretty much every SIU fan with half a brain knows Hefferman is a joke. He's not just a homer; he's a moron, and that's an insult to morons. Embarrassing. How anyone but Marshall could be COY is beyond me. I too would go with Marshall, Muller, and (very reluctantly) Hinson.

Shaq's gotta be on most improved team. Next year he's probably the best post player in the league. He's come long way since last year.

If I was the Bradley coach and received the COY award this year (which won't happen) I would decline to accept it on the basis that I am not interested in participation trophies at this level.

Right? I mean, I have nothing against Wardle. He's trying something, and it may work. Perhaps he will earn it in another couple of years. I would certainly call his year more successful than, say, Giacoletti's. Maybe even Moser's and Lusk's. Heck, you might even convince me he did a better job than Simmons. But let's take it easy.

And Heffernan went with Ben Jacobson of UNI as COY with his vote. Man, I'm no NCAA Div I coach, but it sure seems like it's that man's job to get his team prepped and 'up' for EVERY game, not just biggies like NC or Iowa, or WSU for that matter. This team flat lost too damn many times to the 'puff balls' of the Valley. If I were a UNI fan I would have pulled out all of my beautiful, curly locks over the way Jacobson's squad played this year.

To me, he just didn't do the best with what he had on hand for consideration as COY.

I know I'm biased, but I'd go 3G or Hinson.
