  • Some Evansville fans are delusional enough to believe they still have an at large chance. Reminds me of UNI fans almost every year.

    • If Evansville wins their next 4, but then the rules get changed and they get their auto-bid stripped away, they still won't get an atlarge bid. 4-0 leads to an RPI of 64. 3-1? Um, no.

Apparently Shelby like Shelby Miller, the pitcher; WAG as in Wild Ass Guess, not Wives and Girlfriends.

I want off the 8/9 line, but a chance to send the Chickenhawks home in the first weekend again wouldn't be terrible. Even though if we are on the 8/9 line, I would rather just be in OKC versus OU.
I doubt the committee will put us in the same first weekend against KU two weekends in a row. Pretty sure they try their hardest to avoid that in back to back years, but I could be wrong. I know they do it in the first round, but I'm not 100% about the second. I wouldn't want to face KU right now anyway. They're playing really well. Give me literally anyone else instead.

Fair enough, Russ -- a road win at Iowa, even by "only" eight, is probably a bigger deal than a road win at Loyola, especially by a mere 22 from a team that's supposed to win by 30+. And I'm sure if the Shocks keep winning, they'll have their chances to pass some teams ahead of them on the Lunardi curve.

Of course, I'd rather see the Shocks get their #7 (or #6, or even #10, rather than a #8-9) from the selectors rather than Lunardi.

            • I am curious which rpi source is the most accurate to follow to see what the committee will be looking at when they make their decisions? I have noticed tjat there are quite a few outlets for rpi info and they all seem to be a little different. Which soirce do you folks use to gather rpi info? Or which source have tou found to be the most trusted? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here is the RPI the NCAA selection committee uses: http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-rpi

They also use these team sheets, but I can only find a link to the sheets from last year: http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/MBB_RPI/MBBTeam.pdf

                • @S_WU_SH, the differences are so small that it literally doesn't matter where you look.

I prefer http://www.rpiforecast.com because it also shows final projected RPIs based on final W/L record. It also allows you to project conference tourney games using the RPI wizard.

                          • KU fans see "2014 WSU vs Kentucky" possibly coming their way. This board was livid about that game, and KU fans deserve credit for seeing it for what it is and praying like crazy it doesn't come to fruition for them this year.

I know many don't want to admit it, but it is a sign of respect.

There are 3 or 4 posters that feel the way you are saying. Which is fair, they learned their lesson and can see things for what they are. The rest of the thread is hilarious.

This is a real quote from that thread:
Lets put it this way, had Embiid returned healthy, Alexander and Ubre lived up to their hype KU would have disposed of WSU easily last year.
Someone is literally arguing that if the players had been as good as the fans said they were, they would have won. And that's before you even get into the stupidity of magically adding previous players to a roster.
