Remember - KU fans are fans because they picked up a shirt at Wal-Mart... on the clearance rack.

I'm not one who thinks WSU and KU will be intentionally set up for rematch purposes. However, KU and WSU have every bit of the 1 in 4 chance that random luck would suggest should they fall as 1 and 8/9 seeds respectively. I would argue that due to regional proximity, that 1 in 4 chance is actually greater, and the game last year will have little impact on the process at all.

      • I'd be happy if we don't play them ever again. Don't give them another shot.

        • KU had a "walk in the park" attitude last year and got punk'd. They are getting after it now and beating good teams. Wouldn't want to see them till the F4.

Shelby Miller is a very nice guy. Lol not the sharpest tool in the shed, but a good guy. Him and my sister dated for a couple years.

Fear not. Your team never makes it to the 2nd weekend, much less the 3rd.

Interesting outlook, and I kind of like it (certainly if they're unwilling to play in the regular season). They definitely have some unhappy memories from the last time, so let those memories just fester for a while.

                • Alright all you WSU pessimists, time to put up or shut up.

                  Joe Lunardi’s first 8 out:
                  Gonzaga
                  Oregon St
                  St. Bonaventure
                  George Washington
                  Alabama
                  Washington
                  UCLA
                  BYU

Someone tell me who in this group is going to jump the Shox if WSU finishes 2-1 or 3-1 and needs an atlarge bid. And don't tell me that one of them will go crazy and win 4 more top 50 games before finally losing in their tourney finals. Sure, someone might do that, but just as likely, someone who is already in will do the opposite, tank, and fall out of the field. The net effect would be that the Shox would still get in.

I want to hear a valid argument that any of these teams have an even remotely likely chance to grab the last atlarge bid if it came down to them and WSU. Put up an argument, or stop your worrying.

                  • Interesting that if the Zags and BYU both end up out, the WCC will be down to just one team -- and it won't be Gonzaga.

He obviously thinks St. Mary's is safe, at least for now, which would mean that the best chance for the league to get an extra team would be for someone else to win their tournament. What if it's BYU, and the WCC gets TWO teams, neither of them Gonzaga? How strange would that be?

Exactly. We tried for years and years, let them soak in the loss for decades now. Would suck if they get a shot just 1 year removed.

I promise you Creighton will not have to play KU this year.

                          • I know Gonzaga has had some injury issues, but they are a prime example of great big guys with no guards to get them the ball. Yes, I'd love to have great bigs and great guards, but if I have to pick one, give me FVV and Bake every day.

I'll preface this by saying I agree with your take that we're in, assuming we take care of business tomorrow.

That said, those who forcus on the "who've you beaten" side of the equation could easily take Oregon State ahead of us. #31 in RPi, 6-6 in top 50 RPI games, with two wins against the top 10 in RPI
Their Kenpom rating is 62, but that "who've you beaten" crowd doesn't know what advanced metrics are, in my opinion. (They'd also be likely to say that we lost to Alabama head to head, so there)
Dominance is a state of mind.

I remember a lot of KU fans saying that WSU would have dstroyed KU in 2014, after watching us against UK.
