  • The Shocks know the formula. Great defense, take care of the ball, stay out of foul trouble, shoot a reasonable percentage.

Seton Hall has some very good talent on their roster and they have apparently circled this game on their schedule.

Should be a very interesting contest.

    • A lot of SH fans view this game as a must win and give tons of respect to WSU. If they can get a W over us, it's a marquee win they so desperately need.

My prediction, Markis is from Paterson, NJ, he'll have a lot of family and friends there to watch him play. He'll obviously be pumped and nervous at the same time. I predict some early struggles as his adrenaline is pumping, but he'll end up contributing 18 to the cause and we'll win by 9.

      • This is a must win for us as much as it is for them...We dont have many games to lose...if thats even a statement to be made...but either way...we need this game bad...

          • I as a Seton Hall fan am very excited and looking forward to this game Saturday, early on in the season it became disappointing for me when you guys had Fred get injured, and struggled down in Orlando. But once again you guys are looking like a great team, I have much respect for the program and what Greg Marshall has done. With that being said I do not think that it will be an easy win for you guys as some of you are saying. We do still have to cut down on the turnovers, especially against a team like you guys who thrive off of teams mistakes but this team has matured greatly since last year and does not make as many freshmen mistakes anymore. Losing Sterling Gibbs to transfer does hurt us on the perimeter but down low we are more balanced this year as we still have Delgado is has a double double the past 3 or 4 games, and Nezi and Sanogo are much improved from last year and add depth down low. Desi Rodriguez has by far been the x factor this year for the Pirates as he can drive to the rim and score and also has been hitting shots from beyond the arc. If Whitehead plays a good game at guard and does not commit stupid turnovers, if Carrington can hit the shots he is capable of making and Rodriguez and Delgado keep up the way they have been playing it will be a close game and will go either way. Looks like this game might come down to which team will be able to slow down the other teams guards more which will obviously be harder for us to do since in my opinion you guys have the best guard combo in the nation.

I agree. This has become a very important game for the Shocks. While their is not doubt SHU is really focused on this game I think it is fair to the so are the Shocks. There was a reason Fred and Ron came back for one more year and they understand the importance of this game in getting them where they want to be come March.

                • SHUFAN seems pretty logical, although I don't necessarily agree with his points. I read through some of their forum, and as stated earlier, they seem pretty knowledgeable about their team. The reason I think Shocks by 13+...UNLV and Utah were both superior to SHU in the post. UNLV and Utah were what I would call about the same level as SHU guards. WSU bigs are the same as they were against UNLV and Utah. WSU perimeter will be better than they were against UNLV and Utah. Shocks by 13+.

                  • Channeling their inner PJ Carlesimo, SHU will be wearing throwback uni's for the game on Saturday.

I think SHU guards are much better then the UNLV and Utah guards and Delgado at 6-9, 245 will be a load in the middle. Shocks by 13+ seems overly optimistic to me, especially with this game on the road, but we'll find out soon enough.

One of these days the Shocks shooting is going go off and they will torch somebody but I'm thinking that is more likely to happen at home and I think the intensity that we will see from both teams Saturday makes that unlikely.

                      • Newly confident Shaq after back to back games against NBA centers will go for 20. He has a bigger butt than their guy with a big butt. Shaq is a better player about to start finding his game consistently.

Frankamp also goes for 20 on 6-6 threes plus 2-2 free throws on his one embarassing attempt at penetration that gets bailed out by a timely 3rd foul on their center in the first half.

Nothing wrong with a little optimism.

                            • Whitehead: Seton Hall needs to not turn the ball over, and play defense.

Willard: Last year when we played at Wichita State it was one of the most intense places that we've ever played.

                              • It's going to be an exciting game! If Seton Hall wins, it's a statement game. If WSU wins, it's an announcement that we are back, and here to stay.
