How to call the coaches show.

First, listen to the radio while on hold and wait to hear MK on the radio. Then after a few "Caller, are you there?" Say, "Is it me?" Then say, "Long time listener, first time caller." Finally, "I'll hang up and listen."
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

No, I don't call. I do enjoy him being rude to Lutz and other media types, not to his fans though.

Nonono, you drink a lot. Then as soon as you go on the air you start sniffling and sobbing. Then you ask coach Marshall why he ever came to any of your baseball games when you were little. And then you stay on the line sobbing for as long as possible for effect. That's what I would do if I called in. Which is why I don't call in. :)

I will buy coach a drink Monday. That should break the ice and soften the mood.

That was after his description of certain refs as housekeeper refs. He wasn't exactly feeling too friendly towards one of the "housekeeper" refs when Drake called a 30 second time out. Apparently (and I did not know this), teams are not supposed to sit during 30 seconds timeouts. He said the housekeeper ref was standing right at the Drake bench when they sat down while his tired Shocks stood through the time out as required. I think he used that as his entre to rag on the refs a little about some other issues as well.

This was most of what he talked about, but the beginning of what he said and the very end are what make up the punchline, I think. He started off by saying Fred got two quick fouls, one of which was not a good call. Then he talked about the standing/sitting issue. Then at the very end, he said something like, "I also used that time to tell them how much I didn't like the foul calls on Fred that happened seven minutes earlier." I think that last part is really where it's at, and what he was really mad about. Sort of like the pitching coach who takes too long at the mound so the home plate ump will come out and he can yell at the ump about what he really wants to talk about.
There are nights when I think that Sal Paradise was right.

He was clearly irritated by the ref allowing Drake to sit during the 30 second timeout while his guys stood. However, you're right in that he used this as an opportunity to deal with some other issues as well.

Ah-ha...I get it now. Callers be like drinking when they call in. Well I guess that explains the "sloooowness" I hear from the 80%. Lol. Okay in my book. I should call in after the Shockers pull out a close game. I'll get my drink on that particular game...call in, talk real slow and make a "real" ass-hole out of myself. Lol - GO SHOCKS!!!

                        • Do you remember the time we lost at home to Creighton on New Year's Eve? Back then the asst coaches would be on the post game call in show. People called in that night and just ripped poor coach Jans to shreds. I think that was the last time an asst coach was on the post game call in show. It was brutal.

It definitely seems to have been on Marshall's mind, just as "atomic bombs" as shorthand for "WSU turnovers that produce guaranteed enemy baskets" popped up after the late-game debacle against GW.

                              • Reading a previous post that said something about Marshall reads social media and stuff, just made me wonder if the infamous signed basketball of @Kung Wu:'s that said he was Gregg's favorite ShockerNetter is true?
