Most of the 90s teams have blurred into one giant heap of suckitude for me. Which really sucks because that was the decade I graced that fine institution with my dollars and time as a student."When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

I still remember that Ralph Miller was run off by fans who became unhappy that we hadn't won a National Championship even though we were a Top 10 program at the time, and then we followed up with 1966-1974 where we didn't even win a Valley Championship.
Just remember the 90's, be grateful for this year's team and have some fun. This is a lot more fun than losing.

Well, Prez, you weren't alone. I was a season ticket holder for most of the three decades prior to the revival under Turgeon and full renaissance under Marshall. And the 90's were pretty awful, it's true. But with a couple of blips, the 70's weren't much better. Only the 80's are really worth remembering, and even they were up and down because of the probation and Smithson's burnout.
Now is the time to be a Shocker fan. Meanwhile, I'm eagerly awaiting that call next Monday -- hopefully Sacamano will step up and make it himself -- about Marshall's cranky answers to callers (although, truth be told, I'd rather have the questions pre-submitted, which would eliminate the issue altogether).

I've never met HCGM personally (although I thought about it a couple years ago when the Shocks were here in Portland for the NCAA; the loss to VCU bummed me out too much to seek him out) but I listen to all the post game radio shows and listen later to the coaches' shows. I LOVE him! His edginess is motivational to the team. Having said that, there is a difference in frustration with media-types asking stupid questions (they don't care about your team) vs. fans, sometimes ignorant (drunk?), asking "housekeeping" questions. The fans have the team's best interest at heart, unless they're the parent of a particular player. Even the stupid questions are an expression of passion for the team. Recognizing this may help temper coaches show answers compared to media interviews. Also, with a few exceptions, we are all less informed about the basketball world he lives in; viewing this as an educational opportunity for us may help him phrase his answers differently.

I forgot about the freak season in 2008. I was thinking about those 3 years in a row when they made the final 4 and the elite 8 twice.
As I recall they were just one basket away from making the final 4 two years in row, as they lost a nail bitter to Ku. But those 3 years were so long ago that I am sure most Drake fans have never heard of them.
